Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
Alan Kay

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

By the people, for the people

The Council supports and represents community members who have questions, feedback, or grievances that deserve attention within the Cambrian House community. They also are the board of directors of the Cambrian House Co-op and are responsible for the performance, plans and prospects as well as immediate issues of the co-operative.

The Council Members

As voted by the Cambrian House Community in October 2007

The Cambrian House Community and Cambrian House Co-op is led by the Council elected by its members annually. They have discretion to distribute patronage dividends to members in response to participation within Cambrian House as they see fit.

The Council consists of both Cambrian House representatives and independent community members (typically 2 CH team members & 3 community members). Community members are voted in, and serve fixed terms (typically twelve months).

It's not what you say that matters - it's what people hear.

It is much easier to find money via passion then it is to find passion via money.

The Mandate

In addition to its general oversight of the community, the Council also performs a number of specific functions including:

  • determining the distribution of patronage dividends;
  • collecting feedback from the community,
  • handling any disputes that may arise during the communities formation and operation.
  • ensuring processes are in place for maintaining the integrity of the Cambrian House Co-op, the financial statements, compliance with law, the Company's Memorandum of Association, Bylaws and Code of Conduct; and relationships with members, customers and vendors.

For instance if a community member disagrees with the number of Royalty Points awarded for their work they may ask for a review by the Council. Alternatively if there is a dispute over ownership of a product idea, the Council could adjudicate to help resolve the problem.
