Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Are you seeking crowdsourcing technology? – Check out Chaordix by Cambrian House.

Crowdsourcing gives me that opportunity to support my diversity of interests. It keeps me alive with new challenges and interesting projects. Can't get much better than that can you? Oh yeah, and what's my risk? Time. I personally call it play time.
John Lynn, Feb 2007

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

Hmmm, this Member doesn't appear to have any ideas...

Stay focused and don't sweat the small stuff.

I enjoy writing software -- specifically Web-based applications that help business people be more successful at what they do. I've been an entrepreneur since I was a wee-lad, and now that I'm a old man (30s), I've still got that childhood excitement (more, actually) about building new products and services. I started my first Web-based business in 1995, and collectively, the businesses I've started/owned have grossed several million. [paragraph] I'm always eager to sit down and talk shop with other idea-makers and movers-shakers, which is how I guess I stumbled upon this place. [paragraph] I am not a Web designer.. but rather, a business person and Web application designer/developer. Big difference. I know a very nice visual design when I see one, but a site designer, I am not. I am an idea person, and I am also a coder. I have experience in several languages and platforms, but mostly prefer Linux as a server platform, Perl, C++ and Java as in the language department, and MySQL for a relational DB. [paragraph] On the business side -- I've always had a knack for it, and never did mind stomaching the risk. I've never worked for a big company in my adult life.. in fact, I've never been employed by a company as an adult, that I didn't start/own. [paragraph] I'm quite familiar with hardware and networking in the higher-end environment, including clustering, load balancing, fail-over and redundancy -- enough to deploy a couple racks full of servers to run some high-traffic Web sites and applications; however, I wouldn't say that I'm a top-notch expert in the hardware niche. Put it this way, I started back in 1995 building my own SOHO beige box servers from scratch, and by the time 1999 came around, the farm started looking more like HP 1U servers and HP managed switches. And I haven't looked back -- shame on me for ever installing a $5 ball-bearing CPU fan (with an undocumented MTBF of 5000 hours). [paragraph] Right now, I am developing a couple of exciting projects for online business owners/managers. One is very e-commerce specific and one is more of a technology platform. As the projects get further along, who knows, maybe I'll be calling on some help from the Crowd?
