About MRDC: What can one guy do with a cool guitar collection, a computer and some vintage synths? Listen to MRDC and find out. MRDC is about making great albums. Remember those? Picture this, a summers evening, a beautiful sunset, your favourite beverage and good company. MRDC is the music that supports the mood for these good times. More like the soundtrack in the background of your lives than the pop song on your car stereo. Separating himself from the electronica dj pack of producers Martin Richmond plays most of his own tracks as he is an accomplished multi- instrumental talent. Aside from the artist known as MRDC Martin is a successful independent composer, sound designer and music producer with an impressive array of radio, television and film credits that recently include, the CBS weekly series “Ghost Whisperer”, MTV's "Date my Mom & Making the Band," Global TV's "The Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival", Beyond the Action ,and a number of television commercials. An early gig with the Record Plant's Gordon Fordyce (Motley Crue, Van Halen, Ozzy, P'Diddy, Tone Loc, TLC and Seal) helped Richmond to cement his own distinctive sound that blends diverse musical soundscapes to create a memorable mood for any story or living room. Martin likens his intuitive music-making process to an electronic canvas, saying "anyone can throw paint on the wall and call it art, but a true artist instinctively chooses the best colours, shapes and textures... "I don't follow formulas and yet my music works because I know how to blend all the right grooves." Fact Sheet: MRDC is; A one man recording act, Martin Richmond. Instruments played: Guitar, Bass, Keys, Computer. Technical: Apprenticed under Gordon Fordyce in music production and engineering. Pro Tools, Rhythm sampling and programming. Synth programming & sound design. A Quick Historical Rundown: At the age of 12 Martin finally convinced his parents he wanted to be a guitar player. Previously his Mother (a piano teacher @ the conservatory level) had been teaching him piano and music theory. In his teen years he was already experimenting with multi track recording, drum & synth programming and recording experimental Rock tunes. Most of his twenty's were spent goofing off jamming with local musicians and bands wile skiing days @ Whistler Mountain. It was a writing partnership with a singer in Whistler that led to recording demos and working with Gordon over the course of 4 years. It was recording instrumental soundtracks for Television shows that led MRDC into a solo recording career that brings us up to date with 2 albums available everywhere on the planet great tunes are sold and the 3rd to be released Fall 07'.
