I think cambrian house's concept of idea sharing,shredding and subsequent improvement is good to refine the scope and quality of ideas. participation is a challenge that might not be easily solved because people do not really know each other than well.

I am not MJ but here is my take on those comments:

There is non, never will be. If you post your idea here anyone can take it, BUT lets be honest, there is no such thing as a original idea! NON, if you thought of it someone else has thought of it to.
The real power of CH is the collaboration, say you have a idea... I have some comments to improve you idea. Now that idea that was just OK is amazing! but now how do you turn that into a business? because you are only into programing? well thats where I come in, while you are programing I can work on the business side of things, someone else can help with the marketing, someone else with sales, someone else with bug testing... and soon you have your self a business...

So that Idea you had that someone else had somewhere else has evolved into a business... and that guy that had the same idea as you, is still dreaming of doing something with that idea.

hey MJ, man i been trying to make this idea work, ie an ideas website and looks like you gone and done it! congrats. Normally i be gutted you stole my idea but i'm just glad that the people of earth (bit dramatic i know) have and ideas website to use.

i have a question regarding the site as it was a major stumbling block for me when thinking about the creation of an ideas site. Are ideas protected? ie if someone reads my idea and goes off and does it am I protected in any way?
