You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.
Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

The Cambrian House Crew
I think web 2.0 and CH are the missing link for ordinary people to contribute meaningfully in the new ways of creating wealth in this so called new economy.Cycko, Feb 2007
Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.
Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

Not freeish. Not freesque. It's free!
My idea is to place a little t.v. into your car that allows you to see who's at your door.
I missed eleven doorbell rings one day.
One may also place a remote-controlled horn near the door, for the driver to honk at the incoming person, who stands at the door.
Maybe we can have them somewhat chat through semaphore signals (for the incomer) and morse-thru-honk (for the driver).
Wow!
Let's devise a name for it... The incomer bells then shots signals, the driver see a signal then shots his horn-command... the "Bellshot" name seems adequate to me. People will say "hey, try it, its complete BS!"
... Darn :-(
Little research done... Let's forget about it, as those darn cellphones already stole those wonderful ideas.
LOL
Place a little TV in your car? Let's watch TV while we're driving, no need to see what's happening on the road. I sure do not want to miss seeing who's been ringing my doorbell. Those pesky kids, they're probably playing Nicky-Nicky-Nine-Doors!! I can pop a movie in the DVD player and watch Dumb and Dumber while I'm waiting to see who's at my door.
"I missed eleven doorbell rings one day."
Was you be able to open the door if you knew it?
I don't think so, because you are on the road at the moment they ring...
You mean like... have a video feed from home travel over the internet to a EVDO/3G (and so forth) enabled phone that is bluetooth connected to an lcd in the car? Something like that?
They should do this on Pimp My Ride at least.
Is it a marketable product? Sounds like it could be if it streamlined enough.
i can see doing this for the internet and not the car...
then you could check via smartphone
I think I agree with tlyden - how much time do most of us spend in our cars? I'm not wholly convinced by the idea, but I'm more convinced by an internet-enabled security camera (if such a thing doesn't already exist) than a car-based system.
No elevator pitch. No avatar. Very skimpy description. Not responding to comments.
Not really winning me over with this one fella.
I tried, and I tried, and I really tried to think of anyone to whom this might be useful. Then I polled the world. Nobody wants it.
But the question must be asked: How do you know that you "...missed eleven doorbell rings one day...."?
any video feed that you can see when driving is not legal in Australia. probably not where you live either.
If you had a hands free voice link to a intercom near your door, that'd be handy, but there are technologies out there already, maybe skype to mobile that will do it.
I could picture a business that set this up for people, but not technology development using a crowd.
thats so stupid
I agree that a text or voice message to a cellphone would be more useful and require far less technology, as well as being safer when driving. Knowing someone came to the door while you were out could be useful information, but I don't think it's so immediate you need to respond to it immediately. Also, a video feed needs constant watching, while a message is stored and can be accessed when needed.
I believe there are doorbells already that can be hooked into answering machines as well, which could also solve the 'did anyone come by while i was out' problem.
Why in your car?
I have to say; this is a funny thread. I think that something should be devised so that all of us can not answer the door. Our lives would be simpler.
Got something to say?
