Crowdsourcing gives me that opportunity to support my diversity of interests. It keeps me alive with new challenges and interesting projects. Can't get much better than that can you? Oh yeah, and what's my risk? Time. I personally call it play time.

The Elevator Pitch

For casual gamer who just has some free time on there hands and want to play a puzzle game the game Block-cade is a puzzle game that combine simplicity of Tetris with depth and strategy that comes with mastering the game. Unlike many other net based puzzle games like Bejeweled our product offers several different modes of play that can fit anyones personal style and taste.

The Idea

My Idea is a Tetris-like puzzle game where you control groups of falling colored blocks. But here each horizontal line has it's own color matching the color of the falling blocks. When you match the color of the blocks to the color of the lines and then press a button the blocks will be detonated. By doing so all like colored block adjacent to the destroy blocks will also detonate regardless of what line they are on. After the initial blast if any more blocks fall on their repective colors they will also detonated causing a chain reaction scoring more points. In addition to the normal mode there is also a puzzle mode where your giving a group of blocks and you have to determine which lines need to be which color in order to clear all of the blocks in one go, a VS mode simular to Puyo Puyo (AKA Kirby's Avalanche), a Timed and Endless mode, and of course a leader board.

I thought of this idea when I was...

One Word, Tetris. Tetris was my main inspiration but of course I didn't want to make just another Tetris clone so I was thinking of ways to make this game my own while keeping it within that area of "Easy to learn, Difficult to Master." That's when I came up with the with the colored lines idea. I thought it was ingenious and simple. The only part I stuggled with is the name. Do you realise how hard it is to come up with a name for a puzzle game?

Could you possibly send me some visuals to explain your idea? I'm sure you've got a cool idea here, but I can't seem to visualize it. Thanks!

Sorry man, The only visuals are in my head. I try to visualize it as like Tetris 2 for the NES and little like Lumines (from what I understand of the game it also requires you to press a button to detonate the blocks). If that doesn't help I'll try to make some crappy MS Paint picture of what I'm trying to do.

Ahh, I think I can visualize it better today. My brain must've been fried that day. :D
