The Idea

A free wakeup service that will work with any VoIP phone on selected networks. Initially it would work for any Gizmo, Free World Dialup, or other SIP-based phone where the service provider allowed guest access. Eventually it would work with Google Talk, Yahoo IM with voice, Skype, and other major players. The user would be able to enter and edit their preferences over a website. The wakeup call would feature either an automated voice with custom text as input by the user, pre-recorded audio as input by the user, or an audio clip provided by the service. The site would be monetized with advertisements (for example, Starbucks ads encouraging the user to go buy a Frappucino), and by offering a premium paid subscription service that can call landlines and mobile phones, and offer more features.

I thought of this idea when I was...

... sleeping in and being late for something important.

Not even close. It needs to be a web-based service not running on the user's desktop. Should be identical to http://www.iping.com/mrwakeup_menu.asp but have a VoIP-based offering that is completely free.
