The Idea
A screensaver that is a realistic simulation of an ant farm. It is not a game and does not require any user interaction, it is just a simulation that runs by itself, much like the fishtank screensavers that are hugely popular. The ants would dig tunnels just like real ants do in an ant farm, and the program would try to model the ant behavior as realistically as possible. The business model would be simple and the users would need to purchase the software after a 30 day free trial. Users could also buy "ant packs" with different species of ants.

... travelling abroad and not being able to find any ants for my ant farm.

I like it but I'm biased, I had an ant farm when I was a kid.
