The Elevator Pitch

For Web deveolpers who need a little bit more "umph" on their sites the Email Importer Deluxo is a flash peripheral that allows users to send mass emails to friends on websites in an easier fashion. Unlike the manual method of remembering emails or even referencing to an email program our product allows a faster, more user friendly method that will add to your site's interface.

The Idea

Sadly, I am the kind of man who sends many eCards to my friends and relatives. Every time I try to send a "card" to multiple people I have to spend a good chunk of my life (which is very precious to me) trying to remember people's emails and then typing them out with little commas in between.
My idea is a simple flash based icon to the side of the email address text box that would allow the user to sign into their email accounts, such as yahoo! mail and gmail, and quickly export their address book. The flash peripheral would also tap into the native address books of Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Once the addresses are loaded, the user could then check the names of the people he/she wishes to send to and click a button and the names would appear on the text box.
This small add-on could also improve productivity for businesses such as Cambrian House.com in places on their site where they are trying to recruit new users. More people would know. Less precious time wasted!

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of my Idea when I was trying to send invites to CambrianHouse.com after I claimed my stock. I think that this could be an easy task with the right knowledge of flash and talented designers. Whether or not it could be sold is up to you.

*Correction* CH already has something like this... I didnt scroll down... But they don't have it in Flash!

You mean you want sth like a plugin to your browser? That's a good idea, excluding the business side!

It's a sound concept, and one that I think has not yet been fully tapped by the likes of Plaxo. There is already a browser plug-in for FireFox called FoxMarks that I use which is a great way of storing and keeping bookmarks in once location.

Perhaps a similar approach could be used for this, i.e. users upload all of their address books from multiple mail accounts or clients into a single online repository, then as you already suggested a plug-in can be used on sites where it can be used.

I think this could potentially be a killer app!
