The next frontier is to tap the quiet genius that exists outside organizations to attract innovations from people who are prepared to work with a company, even if they don't work for it.

The Idea

One centralized source for storing user profiles for anything online. Forums, games, chat, classifieds, auctions, etc... Create one profile on our site and select as many supported external sites requiring user profiles, as you wish. Now when you visit those sites your profile will be filled in automatically (or via a code, link etc) This service provides a secure, single source to protect user data and prevent annoying users with having to repeatedly enter profile details.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Tired of entering profile details all the time...ya!

I like it, but how would it make money?
Plus, not all profile questions for each site are alike so you would still have to enter certain information for every site.
Also, there is an auto form function on most browsers that will remember what you have typed in on other forms so it essentially does it for you when you tab over or enter through the form.

As mentioned above, this is not the first time such an idea has been submitted. The biggest problem is that nobody will trust a single site with every single one of their passwords, user accounts, etc. It would be a HUGE security risk and there would be a lot of liability for the hosting site.

Too much of a security risk.
