In a forum that is a kind of comedy-focused 'YouTube' a variety of comedy events can be participated in ranging from one-minute standup to improv Theatresports teams. Viewers give the preliminary rounds 'laff ratings', and performers work their way up the comedy ladder into semifinals. The finals and semifinals are broadcast at a specific time with plenty o' ads. Improv is insured since actors are given key words over the net - for example, quotbest scene using a __(insert household object here)__.quot This idea bridges international barriers through comedy (no racist stuff allowed), and capitalizes on the interest we share globally for what other cultures find funny. Loose Moose Theatre (based in Calgary) has successfully exported the Theatresports format internationally, so that is a possible way to craft the event structure.
Watching Roman Danylo (who I went to school with) doing a TV Improv Olympics special. I thought, why not get the whole world involved like the real Olympics?
Cool.
I think this could be a lot of fun. I'm in.
I like this one too. Like a web based "Last Comic Standing". I would be into this for sure!
