The Idea

I have created 10 disease specific vitamin supplements to provide prohylaxsis against Type One and Type Two Diabetes and certain cancers.
Our business model is focused on the promoting a prevention model to reduce the impact of these chronic disease states in minority communities around the country and the world.
We will sell our product online and in MD offices. The product sales will be supported by online consumer health information that is updated monthly.
We have secured a 25% commitment from a national angel group with the caveat that we need to secure the remaining 75% from other investors.
Last month I negotiated with a fund search company to launch a PPM stock offering of $400K to support our product launch.
This process takes time and we have an immediate need to improve our cash flow to support the requirements of our outreach. Sales outreach, staff, marketing and product manufacture must get underway if we are going to meet our target launch of 4th qtr 2008.

I thought of this idea when I was...

When my brother was afflicted with cancer last year. To compound the affect of this discovery, I identified a 60% incidence of insulin resistance in the middle and high school students that I was teaching as manifested by the presence of Acanthosis Nigericans, a skin condition that is usually a pre-cursor to diabetes.
I came to the conclusion that I had to make a difference and use my intellect, ingenuity and drive to create positive change.
I achieved that goal with the creation of the supplements but the goal will not be completed unless we can get the products to market.
