The Idea

Using Google Mash up, people can drop a story or text at a spot on the map. Using links within the 'flags' to link one spot to another. . So you can have location based non-linear story. Everyone can participate in one story (might become a mess), or you can have people set up their private story where only friends can participate (but perhaps everyone can read it). You don't have set limits on if it is fiction or reality. . for example; people can set up an adventure that takes you to Alaska, Egypt and the Netherlands as a setting. People can use it as a Dungeons and Dragons type of thing, or real screen writers can use it to explain a story to someone. Or just someone dropping a poem about the sea somewhere in the sea. Give the people a tool to be creative. . If it starts working, you can have them add pictures later. Where's the money in all this? Perhaps, they can sell their stories (real book, or as a screenplay to Hollywood) on the site. Writers gain a part of the profit.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Looking at my desktop that has a map of the world on it.

Writers make money... how about the project? Love the idea though

Yes, the money part, good point :). I have no idea at the moment. Must be something of a service, perhaps offline. On the top of my head; people can pay a little to get their story on the front page, or a 'best stories' real book can be made. With a selection of stories. A part of the money goes to the writers and a part goes to the company.
