The Elevator Pitch

For online shoppers who need to share their disapproval of others the Mob Punishment website is a online retailer that provides humerous gifts and ideas for those you hate. Unlike numerous retailers that carry products with a positive sentiment our product allows consumers to tell someone special how much they truly suck.

The Idea

The Mob Punishment website features helpful gifts & ideas to show someone special how much you truly hate them. Special products from online retailers would be featured on the site, including black roses, Styrofoam cement shoes, along with horse head pillows which can be delivered right to your enemy's bed!

The site will also feature a number of Drive-By Animated Post Cards that users can send online to others they despise. All of our cards will also be available in print through Lulu.com, as well as a host of branded gifts and apparel, such as our 12 months of revenge calendar, posters of the classiest criminals in history, along with a wide range of shirts and hats for the whole family!

I thought of this idea when I was...

Let's face it: you're going to get stepped on at one point in your life or another. You might catch your girlfriend cheating, or you might get fired because your boss is an ass. Who knows! Sometimes friends just collectively decide that you're no longer worth their time and suddenly stop calling or inviting you to... You get the point.

It sucks, and we all know it. But some of us don't know what to do about it. We might take the stupid route and show our love by scarring their names on our foreheads. Others may go down a dark path of self loathing and suffocate themselves on sorry. Then there's the violent path. Nobody likes the violent path. You need help. You need Mob Punishment.

(It's important to note that Mob Punishment is all about the style. The site will never promote violence. While the message is edgy, the tone is pure class, delivering a simple message that says: You Suck. Because they do. And they deserve to know it. They deserve Mob Punishment.)

lolz! love it man!

Major fun! Would the sender info be anonymous?

I foresee a second-order effect where after the initial culture-shock wears off, that people would start wearing the shirts & hats to be cool. This might give the product a longer tail, income-wise.

cRitter Posted: August 24, 2007, 3:51 pm

It would certainly be wise to offer the option of anonymity. Personally, if I'm going through the efforts to tell someone they suck, I want them to know it was from me!

vanhees Posted: August 30, 2007, 12:51 am

What about envelopes with bug eggs ready to invade their house oncew they open them????

JustMe Posted: August 30, 2007, 1:32 am

What about lawsuits?
Do most people who have the kind of money for this stuff want to spend it on someone they do not like?

cRitter Posted: August 30, 2007, 8:49 am

The site would not feature anything which would cause physical harm to the individual or damage to their property. Additional liability would be in the hands of the purchaser as neither Mob Punishment nor the retailers would be responsible for "mental anguish."

The overall theme of Mob Punishment should be taken in good humor, and will be presented in such a way that visitors will not feel like they're supporting a hate group. The goal is to simply provide individuals with a way to tell someone special how much they truly suck.

What about providing the option for REVERSE anonymity...so here's how I picture it.

I get a Mob Punishment flaming bag o' Poo at my door...and a coupon to "return the favour" at a discount.... and the cycle continues and the business booms!

This could work if the lucky receiver didn't know who sent it, but Mob Punishment did and could return the favour with complete Anonymity...except the original sender would know.

That is HILARIOUS! I love it!!!

Selise Posted: August 31, 2007, 1:32 pm

that's hilarious. It would probably make a bundle. Practical jokers would love it.

jpsantis Posted: September 4, 2007, 8:55 pm

oh this is trouble ^o^... i like this. [i think]

... will come back on this.

saigon Posted: September 14, 2007, 1:28 am

interesting...let me check my options on the raitng i can give ;-)

PhilipH Posted: September 27, 2007, 11:20 am

Simple, well-thought out and not difficult to put into practice - go for it!

cRitter Posted: September 27, 2007, 11:36 am

One point I didn't consider initially was the similarity between "crowdsourcing" and "mob punishment." The theme is meant to match the American Mobsters (in order to keep a sense of class and style) but the concept of the crowd "dishing out punishment" is catchy in its own right!

Piper Posted: September 28, 2007, 4:13 pm

Maybe you could include a money back guarantee in the event of a lawsuit or restraining order. Otherwise hilarious. Often when I feel a sharp pain somewhere in my body I'm concerned that someone in my office has one of those office voodoo dolls and is driving a pin through it cursing my name. I'd personally like to know who it is so I could stop the pain...don't go anonymous. I'd call the business Mob's Got Balls!

doublelibra Posted: September 30, 2007, 10:57 pm

ha - yelling telegrams - you can send someone to yell & curse & belittle your enemy at their door. name needs some work i think. how about "Just A Little F You"

bcforrester Posted: October 1, 2007, 10:07 am

Will you sell devices that call your hated person at all hours of the night from an anonymous phone number?

ccozad Posted: October 1, 2007, 12:05 pm

I was with you until you mentioned the electronic post cards. Crap-E-Cards already plans to incorporate animated cards in the near future.

...The site will also have a new look soon once I finally finish my layout or someone one else swoops in with their own layout. (TravelingGuy is always looking for new contributors)

ccozad Posted: October 1, 2007, 12:34 pm

So only four stars because you mentioned e-cards, crap-e-cards has it covered ;)

TravellingGuy Posted: October 3, 2007, 2:18 pm

lol, thanks ccozad. :-)

Ya, hey, quit ripping off my idea, cRitter!!!!! lol

cRitter Posted: October 3, 2007, 8:04 pm

It was all part of my intricate plan to score a perfect 0.69.
