Basically it's american idol but online. The kewl part is you can have best singer for 12-18 year olds then 18-30 you can even have it for kids. Not sure exactly how it wou work but basically people upload videos of them singing anything like an audition. There are a different people who decide who gets in the top 30 and whos out. Once we have 30 America gets involved and wework the same way amercian idol doeas but people do it from their own house. We do different Genres of music each week the same way Idol does. I think it's a great Idea . The problem is we might get knocked off by youtube a week after we launch. Your thoughts?
on youtube there are hundreds of videos where people are just singing different songs. People actually comment: you suck, your good, your gonna be good one day etc. It was then that this idea was born!
I think if there were enough videos YouTube would simply add a new channel name for singing. Currently I think people that sing just use the Musicians channel.
I disagree. I think it's a fantastic idea but if I do it I'll get knocked off in a week
I tend to agree with Kevin. Also, isn't there an online component to the "Idol" series already? They might not like it if you "copied" their idea.
there isnt anyhting online that I know of but if you find something let me know
This could be big *IF* you were the first to implement...unfortunately, that's not the case:

Google (perhaps)?
http://www.googleidol.com/
Even American Idol?

Gravitate your time and talent somewhere else...
Same comment as PeeJayEl: Idols has already done something which looks like your idea. The only difference is that you make category's.
I was also thinking of googleidol and yes add catagories and you're there...
Why not give it a try?

I'd suggest that youtube.com hosted video (and I'm just picking on them specifically) doesn't make it very easy to travel out of YouTube. So if you're going to use their infrastructure, beware that having visitors travel to your site afterwards will require them to type in your URL manually.
Also agree that its been done.
stick a fork in it
i like it
I am so sick of AI and reality TV. I think this idea is a little late.
You seem to be in direct competition to the big names - even if they weren't doing it online, people will much prefer voting on the TV shows as they're simply better-quality and more exciting - and have nothing especially revolutionary to offer.
american idol is online.
Good idea, but competing against the "establishment" would require some sort of innovative twist. I think you should look at the ideas mentioned by others and come up with a way to make your idea unique.
i think the part that is unique is that you can do it for all ages.
Clown29... did you actually write the comments...
"Im in"
...and...
"I like it"
...for your own idea?
You just blew my mind.
