For The video blogger who wants his work to stack up next to the professionals the Video Blogger Studio is a kit of essential hardware and software that makes it easy to produce high quality presentations. Unlike the typical webcam setup our product has everything you need to get your message across.
It seems like all the video blogs on the web look the same. Poor lighting and sound, badly framed, untidy bedroom in the background, and so on. Also the presenters need all the help they can get.
.
Some video production software could make a big difference to the quality of these videos, and I
I think the following features would be required.
.
A web application to provide :-
-video monitor/preview on screen
-video overlay to replace green screen with video or stills
-caption generator
-autocue application
-sound processor to cancel echo, background noise etc
-live video mixer for including clips and pictures, with transitions and effects
We might also want to work with hardware manufacturers on
.
-LED lighting, clips to side of monitor
-desktop camera holder
-wireless clip on microphone
-green screen background, attaches to back of chair
watching YouTube, etc
I envisage this as a web application, which would evolve to offer video editing and other post-production services, along with distribution to YouTube and the other hosts.
That is a long shopping list, DennisJ. What would be your first one or two priorities?
I wouldn't pay for such a service, but there are probably people who would especially with the ever increasing popularity of blogging and sites like youtube. Obviously people who post videos on the web are seeking attention. Your service would help them acheive their self-aggrandization. I'm thinking it would be really cool if it were like those old photo booths, where you go in, close the curtain, make faces and a few seconds later some really crappy polaroids of you pop out. Only in this case, you hop in, close a sound proof barrier, sit in front of a green screen and blather on about whatever you have to say that you think is worthy of sharing with the world. The lighting would be optimized for video. It would be pretty easy to control the lighting in such a small, confined space. Then your video is uploaded to a website where you set up an account. You edit your video using software provided. You can cut out the parts you don't like, change the backdrop, add title graphics and maybe some other graphics. For example you could superimpose the video image of some TV or movie star and pretend you were having a conversation with them. All of this could be done in the comfort of your own home. When you are finished editing, you click a button to submit it to the website provided by Video Blogger Studio and to a number of other site of your choice: youtube, myspace, etc.
The fee structure could be:
1. Pay as you go at the video terminals using cash, credit or ATM.
2. You could charge for some services used on the website.
3. Advertising on the website.
The more that can be done out-of-house to make the vids better, the better. In fact, an automated solution that merely cost on a per use basis by automatically adjusting environment factors, plus some guidelines (read little upfront cost) could get a lot of regular use. Then, as an ancillary market, I'd open a store with professional equipment.
what kind of background do you have to make this idea a reality?
