The Idea

A free registration allows any prayer request to be posted. All prayer requests will be scaled: 1-important, 2-desperate and 3-otherwise hopeless. Perhaps categorized. Paying members will download and install the PRAYER PROJECTION software. This allows you choose and or customize your cyber-prayer force entity. The entities will appear as beings of light with a lens flare effect here or there. Hot keys may be assigned to: H-hold a hand or hands toward those receiving prayer, R-raise a hand or hands to the Father, K-kneel down, P-praise with either real time audio or preset praise. PH-hallelujah, PT-thank you Jesus, PY-yes Lord & so on. Holding down the space bar will allow prayer to be sent via audio. The longer the space bar is held down the brighter an entity becomes. Once the space bar is released a flash heavenward from an entity is followed by an orb of light beaming toward the viewer, leaving a glow on the screen. Clicking on a PRAYER PROJECTOR will focus audio or profile

I thought of this idea when I was...

The Celestine Prophecy and its counterparts are novels by James Redfield. There is a description he gives concerning our prayer force and how it flows constantly from us. Then he goes on to describe groups of people gathered all over the globe before giant screens directing their prayer force toward various people who appear before them. Could this idea fullfil that prophecy? Your vote will determin, yes or no.

I'm gonna be honest here... Putting 'the spiritual' and 'the commercially viable' together has never been a "winning formula"... Not in the software business anyways. Praying and looking at a 3D cyber-prayer with cool visual effects are two completely different things...
Do you really believe 'praying' belongs to the term "massive"? Unfortunately, that's not the case as some studies reveal that only one-third of ADULTS pray. How many adults do you think like interacting with a cyber-anything when it comes to praying? The thing is people pray to a "higher being", not to the person they are praying for, and usually they don't do it for fun.
Anyways, free registration allows anyone to post prayers so why should I pay to download the software when I have let know my prayer to the world? I'd like to hear another solution to the question, How does this could really make money?

Thanx for your input Vicc,
I am aware of these unfortunant statistics which you have brought to light here. However, consider the stage tricks of the shaman. Is it not true, his slide of hand which, while removing the evil spirit (which is in reality, only a bloody chicken liver. {See; the man on the moon. Bio. of Andy Kaufman} only a reformation tool used to magnify belief and support the idea of healing?
Furthermore, In the book of Acts, we read of Paul, as his shadow heals 5:15 19:12.
[Acts 5:15-16. "They brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits, and they were healed every one."

We must not read more into this passage than what it probably means. It does not say that the shadow of Peter falling upon the sick healed them of diseases. Probably it did. God can heal even through a shadow as an instrument, or through no instrument at all. The people were so very eager to be healed, and looked upon Peter as a great man of God, that they expressed their desire by believing that Peter's shadow would be beneficial. As far as we know the so-called "miracle men" and "miracle women" who claim divine healing powers have not yet tried their shadows, nor have their dupes taken refuge under their shadow. But a multitude was healed who gathered in Jerusalem from the surrounding towns. Their sick and those vexed with [page 30] unclean spirits were all healed. There was not a single failure.

It is not beyond GODS' power, This binary laying on of hands that I propose here in this "otherwise hopless idea."
Talk to me.
I once read that scientists have discovered that just observing sub-atomic particles causes the particles to behave differently.
Watching these PRAYER PROJECTORS as they hold thier hands toward you and >FLASH HEAVENWARD< (aware of the fact that "people pray to a "higher being", not to the person they are praying for.") confirms the sub-spiritual-parts within, as they respond and heal.
Talk to me.

"And most of this praying takes place on Sunday His day off. It's not nice. And it's no way to treat a friend."
This idea kind of reminds me of George Carlin:

"I once read that scientists have discovered that just observing sub-atomic particles causes the particles to behave differently."
OK, by observing they are talking about measuring with some type of method or device. This adds energy to the once closed system that causes the particles to behave differently.

If you give me a design document and some concept drawings I might think about it. Maybe even build some type of program.

Hi,

This appears to be a great idea. As an Audio Visiual tool, if adapted properly; it could be of great assistance to practitioners of some mainstream religions, and also the occult religions, such as Vodoo, Macumba etc.

Once you have sold the software, have you any plans for a continued revenue stream ?

As of this moment prayerprojectors.com is available according to 1and1.com. If you can believe that.

I'm not saying its a good idea, in the same way I won't comment on "The Celestine Prophecy".

So all I'm saying is, if you name your idea after a domain name, you might as well register the domain name. Else you end up buying it off some squatter later at an inflated price.

And you probably don't need/want downloadable software to do this. Just a flash website.

Interesting idea, I just don't see it being viable. Especially installing software on a computer.

If it were to succeed I would recomment making a iGoogle and Facebook widget that connects to a web service.

Your iPrayer's should be easy to cast, people don't like repentance being too difficult ;)

Agree with CharonV, it could be a great an Audio Visual tool, if adapted properly; and with Tighefighter that it should be a widget that connects to a web service.

I think I have to agree with Williamanon on this one!

'True' prayer is simply communication with God (or other higher being of one's choice, to be exclusive) and requires no flashing lens flares, raising of hands or shouting. Throughout the Bible God encourages and teaches His people to pray, and always humility and avoidance of flashy gimmicks is preferred. See for example Matthew 6:5-15. I'd be surprised if similar teachings aren't found in other religions.

What you describe is a parody of prayer that is in danger of taking away its significance by moving the focus from God to the software and its special effects. Yes there may be some believers who find it useful but I suggest that for most it could be dangerous and damaging to their prayer lives. If you have any success in selling it to people it's likely to be new-age types looking for spirituality without the awkwardness of associated religion.
