The Elevator Pitch

For anyone who needs help, the Robinhood Fund is a online community wishing well that grants wishes to everyday people based on the opinion of a community of members. Unlike traditional charitable organizations our product grants both nice and naughty wishes on an individual scale.

The Idea

Robinhood Fund provides an online platform for anyone to submit a wish for anything they want. A community of users then votes to decide which wishes should be granted. Every week, Robinhood Fund listens to its community and funds both a winning 'naughty' and 'nice' wish. Note: This website is already in existence at http://www.robinhoodfund.com. It went live in October of 2006. Robinhood Fund is being added back as a candidate in order to test new functionality on the CH platform.

I thought of this idea when I was...

This idea originally comes from MJ. He was fascinated with the idea about popularizing the charitable model. Using the wisdom of crowds to find and fund the most deserving everyday wishes was a powerful thought.

Congradulations on the Webby nomination.

Great example of how crowdsourcing can work.
