Downloadable and printable maps of wine regions from around the world, complete with details of wineries, products and special offers from participating wineries. Print em off before your next wine tour! Magazine potential!! Basically this mashes local map API's with winery websites. Need a good way to scrape content from winery websites, namely their location, products and description. Alternative is to have wineries update the information in a content management system.
Australia is an amazing wine country - this would be a perfect tourist move for us.
Good idea, but what about the money making angle?

Hi Kshex - thanks for the question!
Revenue model is based on local wineries paying small amounts to have their vouchers/specials included. They can also pay to have a more detailed profile of their winery included i the print-out.
Revenue can also be generated by printing a regular magazine that is sold in local bottle shops.
In addition, provide the ability to filter wineries on specific criteria - Wine types, restaurants, picnic areas etc. Have users rate their experiences with wineries. 'Hire' local editors for regions to provide local touches, and to keep really up-to-date with local events, area restaurants etc.
Maybe get some support from the local wine region's marketing bodies (they all have them)
I wonder if you could do this with google map now?
Have you tried?
