Customers: - Broadcast Networks - Local Stations - Cable/Satellite Stations - Pay Stations Stream/DL regular broadcast/satellite/cable content: - 15 minute blocks - All ads included where originally placed - No technology to strip ads from source - End user owns the content that they download and stored - the price paid was the time spent being marketed to (watching commercials) - Standard video format. Transmission Provider (instead of broadcaster): - No liability for what end users do with content - "Contract" assumes ad viewing or fee in exchange for "use" of content - Offshore = no FCC nonsense Sell: - Ads on Portal - Media player sponsorships - Bandwidth sponsorships - Advertising to content providers (to direct viewers to their content, thus raising their own ad rates) Why will networks & stations release content to us? a. Expands audience and viewer share for advertisers b. No additional cost c. Improved service to viewers. (Global traveller can watch local news, etc.)
