After checked ur comment I also google it..and finnally found that there is a website called brithday alarm.com which allow users to fill personal details and birthday...but it's extremly a business site for send ppls e-birthday card. The income comes from the birthday card..

There are some differenta between mine..
1. The IDR widget sends message to facebook or MSN or Mobile phone unlike birthday alarm which sends message to email that means has a huge presentage filtered by email system.

2. The IDR widget do much more than Birthday alarm..IDR is would remind u everything rather than A birthday.

3. The business model is the significant different. IDR's income from Ads, retailer's promotion. On the other hand the birthday alarm's income 100% relies on its e-birthday card sales.

there might be some other online-tools like my idea but the appliation of IDR is somewhat variety.

In Europe there are services' with a similar concept. For example I know of one service which sends SMS reminders to remind people that they have Doctors, Hairdressers, Dentists Restaurant appointments etc. The companies charge the Doctors etc around US$0.50 per SMS. The reduced number of no-shows seems to justify the cost. This type of service is very popular, the companies doing it make good profits with low overhead.

Well, I couldn't find an a universal date reminder... so go for it, make it happen! Just make a list and start integrating the IDR widget into items on the list. Even getting it integrated across three things should get you some traffic and a following.

But i still believe the IDR widget has its power when it attachs on the sns website (facebook, myspace) or MSN, ICQ, ect. rather than solely a "Important Date Reminder " coz this concept really like the "Where've been" which adhere to facebook. When some guys surf ur page they feel good if u've been to the same place as they did or they wanna.

The same principle, if the visitors found u will go to the same concert on ur IDR widget for example they might get more involve with u....

Another application for the IDR is u can write down ur "To do list" on it.. for sure u have the authority to hide the privacy concent if u don't wannna share with others. IDR not only remind u the important day but also the specific time activity of everyday..

Looking forward more comments on this idea. And some IT/promgraming Master help me work on it coz i have no IT background..

well actually, I would like 2 modify this reminder ...that is extend this widget to a whole box, called "personal secretary assistant" which can help u book hotel, ticket, restaurant reservation, organizes ur travel time line, etc.

to make these job done is required to build partnership with services providers. This partnership will bring triple-win result.

1st this whole box could help ppls to organize their personal life and reduce cost of company to hire more secretaries.

2nd this whole box could gain ad-fees from services providers as well as the VIP users subscribes.

3rd the whole box would bring more consumers 2 services providers.

I just do not see anything new here with this idea... there is lots of calender, to do list mashups out there.

Windows Live Events is quite different from this idea I think. Windows Live event is for one event and doesn't handle the reoccurring events and reminders for those events. I think it's apples and oranges.

Techguy it's true this reminder not just for one-event, it's a circle. furthermore Windows live is abt"The free social event planning service lets you invite friends to an event and creates a Web page where people can share photos and stories with blog entries after the event."

On other hand this widget is not a blog it's a personal secretary majority focus on business people or company client, which can manage and organize ur daily-activities, like schedules conducting, ticket booking, conference planning etc,.
