The Idea

Plagiarism on the web is becoming huge problem. Not only for the written word, but also for images being stolen. What is needed is a way to seek out your material, which may have been stolen. Copyscape exists, but it it only covers text. Crypto- trace would create a thumb print on your material, image and text, and RSS feeds, which would allow you to trace anyone who is republishing your work without permission. It would be like an electronic watermark. As a way to generate revenue, I would suggest a website dedicated to this. People wishing to use crypto trace could join the website for a fee, and then advertising would support the rest. Perhaps the membership fees could be a one time deal, or monthly, with a deal to pay for one year at a time. A community could be created to discuss legal issues, and for help in creating cease and desist orders. Educating Internet users about what constitutes theft, and helping those who have been ripped off.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Bloggers are concerned about their material being stolen. Recently 'Bitacle' was found to be sucking & republishing RSS feeds on their SploggSite, where they are making money from Google Adsense, from somebody else's hard work. Google is making money from this, so I doubt they will put an end to it. People must have a way to protect themselves.

For text you could just use google.
For images it could be good. You would need to maintain a search engine of all the images on the web. How much would you charge ?

Yes I use Copyscape for text. Images is the big problem. I am going to add to the idea thought on how to generate revenue. Thank you for commenting.
