Write an algorithm that checks and assesses which gas stations are price gouging. two propositions: i-* the efficient way* Each gas station is required to put a chip in their meters. i.e the meters that display the price of gas. These intelligent chips report the price the gas stations are charging back to the Ministry (whichever ministry). And then compares it against the price that should be charged at that point. Gas stations are given a rating system. And any gas station that falls below the rating system is charged a penalty (based on how much they overcharged). Information is updated real time on a website, so citizens are aware which gas stations are notorious. Worse off gas stations are flagged in red and everything is updated using google maps API's ii- the crude method: the avg citizen, armed with their blackberry reports the price each one of the gas stations are charging. allot a # to gas st. user just has to email info 2 website (posted/tracked automatically
12 cent of a difference across 3 blocks. gouging galore

Check out the "services" section. However, I've seen similar gas price mapping services, so there must be a web service out there that has geotagged gas prices. You could leverage this specifically for price gouging - would make life *much* easier if you can just focus on the UI and let someone else handle the difficult task of tracking prices.
