For people who like to party who are looking for information about the various club or bars in a clubbing district the proposed business idea is a one stop-shop that caters to the clubbing citizens needs and generates revenue by selling products. Unlike various websites that fail to market the clubbing district...adequately our product will cater to the masses and generate revenue by acting as a middle man.
A site where 2 min videos of various clubs are posted, from all over the world A moving image is worth a million words Similarly users can vote (digg) which clubs are the best in any given region
Whenever hitting another city it takes a long while to ascertain which clubs are gonna be good and even then it is a chance. Q. How will this make money? A. coupla ways that I can think of right now: 1- clubs willing to pay a membership fee can be showcased as a "sponsoring joint". Priveleges in that regard would be that those clubs will be able to perhaps: a- upload their own content (videos upto 8-10 mins) and pix of their choice 2- Targetted marketing . Based on the location the person is looking to travel to (i.e the city the person is interested in clubbing in), we could send them targetted adverts (airline, hotel, car rental, sight seeing + other activities in that city) 3- Sell admission (cover) tix st8 from websites for all big events and take a percentage of the sales. (10% of all sales for all clubs) 4- and if you got money to burn. Sell packages to the bawlers (champaigne, limo service) . One-stop shop for bachelors/graduation parties. 5 - bar hopping package
The test market would have to be qualified and segregated and for that the way to weed them out is through a subscription charge BUT which they earn back through evaluations. I actually saw your idea after submitting mine... onlinemarketanalysis.com
They are similar but I do believe there is a revenue base from both sides of the market.

I like it, and would use it for sure...
I like it, great idea. Many wasted hours trawling round cities trying to find the best nights out. But i think you need more than 2 mins to decide if a club is good club or a ' seedy pick up joint' ; ) which some users might like... lol.
You will need to have guest book for each club so that user recommendations can be generated as well as well as a voting system.
Also think about catgories for the clubs....e.g small bar/clubs, big dance clubs, clubs by music types etc

In my younger days I was an avid club go-er and found the best (visually) and biggest clubs prohibit any photography equipment inside. This is because half of the wow factor when you enter a club is that you don't know exactly what to expect. Of course this only applies to a very small percentage, but something to consider.
The greater majority of establishments will be interested and will have marketing budgets, and as a user I would be keen to check out somewhere before hand.
And they are taking people's cellphones away at the door. I'd be surprised. Indeed, in my opinion, a cellphone is the best platform for this system. You find yourself in a new city, activate the service and a premium rate sms message is sent back containing a URL where all the venues in the local area are advertised.
the thing with user generated videos = video clutter
unless you have :
i- user generated videos of clubs and venus
ii- digg styled ratings for those videos
then we are onto something. hmmm
