The Idea

A basic app that allows users to create a playlist of music videos from your favorite video sharing sites (YouTube, Google Video, Etc.).

iTunes sold over a billion songs, a lot of which can be heard and viewed in real-time on any video site.

Users could create their own playlists and share playlists (top 40, MJD's favorites, etc.). Basically free Web 2.0 video iTunes style.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I find myself going to YouTube more and more often to hear and play new songs I like... it's easier then downloading, the quality is good and you get to see the video... the only problem is that after the song is done the music stops! Sad

It is an interesting idea, but I don't think I would use it often. Seems to be a good product for people who spend a lot of time on video sites.

I think you can do this on last.fm now.

You can create "Playlists" on YouTube already. You can also scrape YouTube videos of their audio using JamGlue. (don't break copyrights...)

Are you proposing a personalized playlist which might have items from a variety of sources?

As Croaky said, some sites like YouTube have their own playlists, but I like the idea of one that could mix sources.
