The Idea

Most language-translating software translates text word-for-word, often leading to funky results. My idea is for translating software that takes into account the context in which each individual word is written, in order to generate a more accurate translation. For example, if the word "orange" is in a paragraph with the word "fruit", the translator will return the foreign-language word for orange the fruit, not orange the color.

I thought of this idea when I was...

pondering my french teacher's threat to never turn in an assignment from a web translator.
