The Idea

My firsts helps track and remember all the "firsts" in your life. Each day an email would be sent to you asking if anything of significance happened in your life. You can then click on a link to enter a short description of what happened that day of significance in your life(if there was something). To manage the various firsts you would categorize each description into things like: My Son John, Girlfriend Rachel, My Marriage, Las Vegas, sports. This way each of the events in your life are correlated. Each of these events can then be marked with a reminder. For example, if it was your first date with someone you could have it remind you in a month(so it looks like you remembered). If it was your baby's first doctor's visit you could have it remind you in 3 months to go back to the doctor. In business you could mark you met with someone on a sales appointment with a reminder to call back in 3 months. These events can then be displayed in a timeline of your life/marriage/childhood/etc.

I thought of this idea when I was...

When you are dating someone the guy always gets in trouble for forgetting all the firsts. With this you will have not only "documentation" on when things happened, but you also will be reminded of the event so it looks like you remembered. Revenue would be generated either with ads related to events(ie. flowers on anniversaries), premium membership and printing timelines for Family History sake.

Isn't this what a blog is for?

Obviously it doesn't remind you about things, but then I think you're getting off track from your main idea there.

Maybe I took the description too far to becoming a blog. The reminder was actually the initial idea. Not to mention the ability to track events in life according to a person or category.

Should I revise the description to only include the reminder service. In fact, possibly restrict it to only a one sentence description for each event. Then, you could essentially see a quick timeline of your life and important events that occured. Plus, you'd still get a reminder of those events.

CORE of the IDEA: Creating a simple means to record important dates and remember them.

The things that you might encounter with something like this is contacting this person. For example it is very realistic that some people would log onto their computer every day and see their reminders. I understand that these people would not be logging on just to check their remiders. Other methods of sending these reminders would be good like SMS, snail mail, desktop popup bubble, phone calls? or other ways.

I like the part about the guy always forgetting "firsts." Maybe if we spent less time on CH and more time with our girlfriends we wouldn't forget. Although if we had a reminder we could do both! I like it.

Add a little seasoning:
If someone enters an event "Met 'current girlfriend name' at the zoo in San Diego" as the title of their first, Wikipedia would search all the words in this title and return results. The recipient would receive an email reminding them of this "firsts" alongside the automated Wikipedia search results. This way, naturally, the guy would find more interesting and/or current information about the San Diego zoo which should spark some ideas for a planned revisit of the zoo b/w him and his girlfriend. Or, the email may even contain Google News results from the last 30 days of the keywords contained in the title to, again, spark ideas for a planned date to the zoo. There's a lot of expansion with this idea...

how about also use it so someone can exchange their "1st" (e.g. 1st time applying for college, 1st time going to europe. etc)?

downside is someone will use it for (1st time smoke marajuana, 1st time break into car, etc...)
