Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

The Idea

The presentation of a gift is one of the most important factors when buying for someone difficult to buy gifts for. This service would make an exciting presentation for a gift for any outdoors types. The service would assemble a number of randomly assigned geographic coordinates within local or state parks, and within a range specified by the subscriber. It would then send a package of information to the subscriber with instructions on where to place markers (at these coordinates), and the markers themselves. Also included would be a package to leave (anonymously) with the gift recipient, which would include a map, compass, and coordinates of the first marker. Each marker would provide a website and log-in information that would give the recipient information as to where the next marker is. The final marker would be the subscriber's house, where the actual gift would be cached. This would obviously be a paid service, and the possible marker locations would have to be crowd sourced.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Reading about the geocaching trend, I thought it would be interesting to be able to geocache for a specific person. However, half the fun of geocaching is the anonymity between the people related. This idea forms a bridge between the two, and would be an really cool presentation of a outdoor related gift.

Sound like a whole lot of trouble even for motivated and inspired people on the bounce. Can't see that many people enlisting or even using this service, and even that at rare occasion...
