The Idea

HelpGlobe, as a shell for information, is working well, and is now being indexed by Google. Thus any information you add will get yourself searchable through Google.

We have some very ambitious goals in building HelpGlobe. Our goals are:

* More accurate and accessible information than Wikipedia. (But not more complete or detailed)

* More relevant and useful information than Yahoo!Answers. (But not more quantity of feedback... yet)

As I have seen from people coming into the site through Google, people like to ask questions, not use search terms. Thus HelpGlobe has the potential of becoming the best reference source on the Web.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I have been mourning the death of the Usenet, even during the days when binaries were popular on the Usenet, but the community was already gone.

Then I found Wikipedia. Although very detailed, it often contains the work of malicious or comical editors. I wanted that changed.

Then I found Yahoo!Answers. Although exceptionally popular, questions are often irrelevant, and answers are often off-topic. I wanted that changed too.

So I designed HelpGlobe. And found collaborators to refine the idea.

Now the important part begins. I need your help in making this idea work, by finding the best reference material to put into HelpGlobe.

In return, you will have shares in the company, proportional to your contributions.

It looks like a very interesting site, and I'm sure people will find the "HelpGlobe will be the first member owned and operated, high-profile Web 3.0 site" ( http://helpglobe.com/About.html ) compelling.

We're not trying to provide a biz listing service though.

It looks like you've got the implementation all done, and just need to drive traffic. Which is, despite your neat site and your politeness, still essentially spamming us.

You already posted this idea here: http://www.cambrianh...ter/ideas-id/sMKc9tU

What's up with that?

How are you able to get into the next round of voting when you have already posted this once before under a different name (i.e. Usenet..)?

Here it is: http://www.cambrianh...ter/ideas-id/sMKc9tU

Well it appears shshao first submitted the idea on 2007-10-24, then implemented the idea and is bringing it to our attention on 2007-11-30. I'll set this to PRIVATE and alert him that I've done so. -g
