The Idea
A news wire service made up of dedicated 'amateurs' - bloggers. Bloggers can become affiliates if they adhere to a few guidelines and for ?hard news? take a pledge that amounts to a contract. The company handles all ad sales, bloggers keep x% of revenue from context ads (i.e. Google adsense) and if they?ve got the traffic to support direct ad sales, they keep a smaller% (larger revenue, but requiring staff to handle the sales & maint.). Photo, audio and video work in a slightly different manner. Anyone can upload original media which must be tagged with meta-data in a gallery system. Affiliate bloggers can use this content for a small fee out of their built up account balance. Print Publications (old media) wishing to run either articles or photographs can either: 1. Subscribe to a ?wire service? type plan 2. Purchase the rights to reproduce in print media any individual post or photograph on a one time basis. Reproduction revenues are split with the blogger/photographer

I woke up with this one fully formed in February. The night before I was helping my wife sort out the layout for her blog.
