The Idea

Every time I read about a new start-up getting VC funding I have an opinion about its success or failure. Why not create a tradesports-like betting site devoted to this? For example one thinks Cambrian will be sold or go public in the next 3 years? This could be a game like the hollyowwd exchange.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Just trolling around the web and reading about new start ups

I had this idea too.
You can also get the companies to pledge a small sum of money (say 1-10K) if and when they get sold or go public. The right to parts of this money can then be traded by "investors" for fake money (each "investor" gets some fake money). You then see who can achieve the best results and get good valuations for the companies over time (without legal issues of shares in the actual company).

So this this would be a betting site focusing on economic betting rather than on sports betting?

How would the new law on on-line gambling in the US affect this?
