It's free! Like love in the sixties!
Ever sitting around with a tune in your head, and absolutely no idea who's song it is?
Imagine you could simply log onto a web page, hum the tune as best you could into a microphone and have the web-application return you possible matches.
This could be turned it into an almost Amazon like world where you can purchase the music once its identified, and other similar music selections could also be recommended.
Hanging out at work trying to identify songs from people humming them, and realizing that there must be a robot out there that can do this for me.
Something like that exists, I just don't recall the name.
But I agree it's a great idea!
Tommy
look up "shazam"
Cool idea, though I do think it's been done. Maybe a cell-based version?
Nice pic, btw. :)
Likewise, I can just about remember this being done somewhere else. You didn't even have to hum the tune, you only had to tap out the rhythm on the space bar. I think it did a pretty good job too.
There is a service where you can use your phone and find out everything about the song just after a few seconds.
I know there is a site that did it by rhythm you would tap on the space bar and it would search for the song.
Great idea! I always have this 'problem'...
Great idea, but keep in mind that a lot of people are tone deaf, lol.
Brett
Kevin_Cox, ...by rhythm on the spacebar? Crazy.
Here's some example of song recognition...
