but whn its a personal blog y one needs to drive traffic!??

I feel your pain in terms of the organization of blogs. I think it is normal to want some sense of order when we look for information. Even still I am failing to see the value that this will add to the current situation. Even if every blog directory consolidates into one listing there are still trillions of postings that you have to weed through to get what you are looking for. It does not seem reasonable to create that which a search engine already creates, access to relevant information.
Perhaps your need for a solution is a symptom of a greater problem?Perhaps what we need is superior search techniques that are more sensitivity to our current needs? I am convinced that we have not seen the end of this issue. Try googling "best blog in the world" I did and got 280,000,000 hits. I only wanted one.

@fossiloflife : Actually, it doesn't matter on what types of the blogs look like. Everyone know that you can make money through blogging. Besides, you can make more money and earn publicity at the same time if it is a personal blog.

@Entreprenew : Thanks for your great 2 cents. please don't get me wrong friend. This Blog Directories Consortum is totally different from search engines. What I'm trying to say is we need to take further action to manage all the blog directories not the blogs itself. I think what we can get from 'Blog Directories Consortium' is greater services in terms of managing the blog directories.

Why are there many many directories, social networkings, etc etc ? Why isn't there a site unifying all in one? I think that will be a great problem for you to solve.

Actually BDC is not the same as Technorati. Can you compared what is blogs and what is blog directories? If you do then there is a different. In Technorati, there are a lot of bloggs, in BDC there are a lot of blog directories.

I expect that current directories would rather compete than cooperate.

Why do you think that blog directories would rather compete? I don't see the benefits from this action. Actually, from my impression, blog directories need more blogs in their community and one blog can register in many blog directories. How come they will compete each other?

why cant Forum and Blog be incorporated... a blog is a personal post and announcement of sort... while forum is a direct discussion in a presented topic..
