The Idea

This will be an online repository of family info. .People can add their family hierarchy in this , branching from great great grandfathers time to present and will continue on. This will be a much lovable site when people want to show what their early history is , where they belong to and how did they come so far .
Many businesses can be embed into it as this will be much much more than social networking site .

I thought of this idea when I was...

going thru' my family album Happy

It sounds like you'll offer people the opportunity to make a personalized web page, and your software will be customized to make it easy to enter and display geneological data?

I can imagine an dead easy to use family clip book with archiving capability.

Ideas for this:
I have been thinking of a postit style web interface that would suit this well. With themes like fridge magnets, thumb board and clip book. Where letters photos and notes are pushed into place.

Have both personal and private sections for family and friends to see.

Have calendars and albums.

Money for this:
By using family market adds such as food, health, holidays and insurance you would bring revenue.

Subscriptions to expand capacity much like flikr or picasaweb would make additional or even primary funds.

I don't see anything here that doesn't already exist.

There are a few recurring themes in recent ideas, including my own and these primarily relate to building online services for families.

Should we combine and put all of these into a single portal?

great idea.

But not as geneology (been done by geni.com). Might work as a private family scrap book / image host / blog / event planner/reminder.

As for making money. I think this would be a pay service. $5-10 a month.

how about you approach some genealogy software makers and pitch your additions. It is a popular field and probably one that could benefit from some web2.0 tweaking.

ther's plenty of sites out there - but making it more personal would be nice. my father just turned 70 and is writing his biography - so his grandkids can know what it was like growing up during WW2 in england.
