Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Are you seeking crowdsourcing technology? – Check out Chaordix by Cambrian House.

Cambrian House

Crowdsourcing represents the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call.
Jeff Howe, Jun 2006

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

The Idea

A website that combines the technology of GoogleMaps, Digg & reddit type sites, myspace, tag clouds, and all those wonderful things we love about web2.0. What does it do? Imagine elections are coming up in your local area. You want to vote, but other than the signs you see in peoples lawns, who the heck is running and what the heck are they all about? Now imagine a website where candidates are indexed not only by party, but by voting record and zipcode. Want to know who to vote for? Enter in your zip code and find out whose running, what their platform is, what their voting record is, what the issues they voted for or against were, what people are saying about them, even a personal bio on them. Tag them, comment on them, form action groups, internet grassroots lobbyist groups, schedule rallys to promote or protest them and their issues. When its not voting season, keep up with your local politicians and keep score. Its not just a new political site, its a revolution.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of this while watching the local political primaries for my area last night. I got frustrated with the fact that I had no clue who was running or what platform they were running on. This is a huge website idea, and it may not be a google, but I think its time has come and it is important.
