I think web 2.0 and CH are the missing link for ordinary people to contribute meaningfully in the new ways of creating wealth in this so called new economy.

The Idea

Have u read an online review? Have u noticed that 1 critic may give a stellar review, while another may completely discount the value of whatever the product/service/movie/tv show is. I believe that critiques are only helpful if u & the critic have similar tastes. Therefore, my idea is a website where consumers go 2 critique & find critiques of everyday products, services etc, given by critics that r similar 2 themselves. People can read online reviews of anything anywhere, but www.diggz.com is different b/c it requires people 2 fill in info about themselves b4 they can post a critique (age, gender, race, sign, marital status, income, educ., neat freak, etc). Overall rating (4 star system) w/ color commentary from the critic. Companies can even pay 2 have their product be featured for a critque of the week. They will be able to c what different consumer segments think about their product. Think Coke vs. Pepsi: which demographic likes which soft drink more? diggz.com will tell u

I thought of this idea when I was...

reading an online review of book I was going to buy on amazon.com. One review was great, the next was mediocre, another said "don't waste your money." I then thought to myself, what if I could see reviews from people who were like me? Such reviews would be much more meaningful. After further thought, I realized that this was a problem with movie critiques, critiques I've read about products I've bought online, and bar reviews from metromix etc. Such reviews aren't worth much if you're a 31 year old female, reading a review posted by a 16 year old boy(in most cases). I chose the name diggz.com b/c it's easy to remember, and it implies that you're digging for a specific critique. I think using buzzwords in the profile section as well the regular descriptors, will make the experience more enjoyable. Words such as neat freak, gym rat, couch potato, hippy, hip-hop head, soccer mom, conservative, liberal, punk rocker, average joe, etc. This WILL BE the next cultural phenomenon!
