Submit your photo, measurements and lifestyle. Grooming expert will guide you towards appropriate clothing, accessories, furniture, cooking, fitness and personal hygiene products. Queer eye advice for the online man! Business Model: 1) Grooming experts (from all around the world) act as editors, identifying and categorizing fashion/style trends into appropriate categories (e.g., good shirts for short-bald men) 2) In exchange for their services as editors, they receive extensive promotion of their services on the website (i.e., profile, referral system, hosting of website etc). 3) Visitors to site fill out a profile. 'Advice' is based on profile and comes from the trends identified by the editors 4) Visitors pay one-off fee which entitles them to a) weekly updates on latest trends (stay metro!!) and b) appointment with grooming expert in their area (electronic if required)
i look like a bum and desperately need grooming help
Now combine this with the avatar designing idea (try to find that one here on the system - search for avatar on complete idea list). You can have somebody looking after your complete appearance, both online and offline and kind of fused (have your avatar on your t-shirt.
Yeah! It's fair.
One problem, though, not much work for the crowdsourcerers, but you need a truckful of fashion designers on your payroll.
I like! - nice stuff Deckard
Complete digital and real-world makeover!
perhaps some of the recommendations could be automated based on submitted information. Link it with Stylehive to make your whole life cool!
Good Idea.
There are many image consultants who offer this for local clients though.
How would the business plan look?
Killer idea .. but I think the site could do a lot more than "promote the services" for the fashion consultants, it should pay them outright. Biz model is simple: charge premium for service, pay portion to fashion consultants (unless they are just scripts .. heh heh), pay hosting fees, and whatever is left over becomes the profit. Also the site would have a ready-made extra revenue stream by linking up as an affiliate to clothing makers (RPP). Suppose a fashion consultant recommends a Ralph Lauren polo shirt, well, the site would provide a direct purchase link with an embedded affiliate code and get a portion of the sale.
Definitely the best idea I?ve seen on cambrian house.
It's a perferct place of ads, you know almost everything about users.
nice idea
Love the Idea!
Guys just don't have common fashion sense that women do. There is just no easy place to get it-I have gotten all my info from any girl that I have dated... my wife, or GQ (if i read the whole article). The whole thing is, that guys usually DON'T CARE about their looks, until it's too late! They wake up one day and realize "crap, I need to stop shopping at Wal-Mart". Also thought of a spin off on this idea.. you could have an online site for interior decorating... we love trading spaces, and know they will never come to our town... how bout submitting photos, and getting ideas from the experts... just a thought,
What about having a style encyclopedia with it that tells you about the style and how to pull it off?
I, for example, see some really stylish dressers in movies or out and about and am curious about how they pull off that particularly style. Johnny Depp in Blow, for example.
Good idea!
nice idea!! I never thought that you thought of this first.
I'm sorry that I posted something similar to this. I really never knew that someone else thought of this.
Anyways.. I wish our ideas could be integrated. ^^
Great idea! I would definately use it.
You may be on to something. If I was actually told where I could buy the suggested clothes/products, that would be double sweet.
wow, we had the same idea!
well, I guess you said it better.
Anyways, I'll be voting for you! :D
This could be lots of fun... you could also include a referal process. For those of us who would love to tell someone that they really need the help!
Expandable in a number of dimensions. The website for this could have loads of content, expandable beyond wardrobe into home design.
As Jill suggests, I imagine this having all the elements of the Queer eye experience- fashion, culture, grooming, interior design and cooking.
as simple as that " I LOVE IT!!:
Would many guys really want to pay for this type of service? Maybe you market it to their wife who thinks there husband needs a makeover. It seems like there are 2 general classes of guys. One that wouldn't spend money on this because they think they dress good. The second is the group that doesn't care and so they don't want to spend money on fashion. Someone else has to give them the impetus to do it.
hey, that is just great, i love the idea... why do you think i wear that hat?
hehehehe
Ok, so i'm the second class of guy (canchita's classification) so i could be a potential client.
Great idea. I had the same one, but didn't hunt around to see just how many other people have had the idea. As far as I can see, though, no one is running with it--what a shame. I started a business here on CH called ruWearingThat.com. I think you have some great ideas and have obviously thought about this a lot. Want to join my team?
