The Elevator Pitch

For companies that want to send out news about their company who do not want to pay a fortune for PR service and want to SEO the news releases as well as product launches and is a new media web 2.0 style release that links back to each company's web site and generates keywords/meta tags in the code. Unlike ALL current news wires our product will be the moste effective way to communicate new ideas and corporate news.

The Idea

I would like to create a website that allows people (Compaines) to send out a press release to thousands of relavant websites. I do not want to do an RSS feed, I want to create something new that is fresh dynamic content for other websites. I would like to create a deliever system that will deliver both the press release (with keywords linking back to the company's website) as well as keywords in the source. I would also like to have the release appear on blogs and message boards. Any ideas?

I thought of this idea when I was...

I was using Market Wire and I elected to go with the enhanced SEO and my site traffice went through the roof!!! I figured that there had to be a better way then paying $200-$400 per release. To get similar results.

Alright. Let's say I am Apple. Why would it be better for me to use your service than to email a select group of people who can/will spread the world around? I don't want or need my PR posted on every blog out there, I just want it to appear on an "elite" few sites.

I think if you solve that problem, your idea would be great! From your description, you made it sound as if everyone/anyone could sign-up. What is to prevent that from happening?

Fitzpatrick-

This would most likely not be for an apple. This service would be for small and medium sized companies. I didnt really explain it too well in the description, but the concept is that we (this new PR distribution company) will go out and build a "Syndicate" of websites that want fresh and relavant content for their site. We would build a database that would have groups (industries and special interest) that we would dissemenate to. We would search engine optimize the releases so they link back to the corporate site of the company releasing the news. This in essence is a grass roots "targeted" distribution that doubles as an effective SEO tool!

I use market wire to send out press releases and I opt for a SEO enhanced option and it helps dramatically with my press releases. Please google "Club Scene Network" or "Vegas Club Scene" or my self "Brett H. Pojunis" and see what comes up. There is tremendous value in this type of service. The cost saving could be huge for the companies. The only obstacle is trying to have these releases cross a major news wire to make it an offical release while keeping the costs low.

Our business model is the oppisite of a YouTube. YouTube says come to YouTUbe.com, create a channel on YouTube. Their goal is to drive traffic to their site (please dont point out how you can take the HTML and repost it anywhere) whereas I would rather find an industry that we can tackel such as cooking or photography and reach out to every mom and pop as well as the majors. This way we have a HUGE reach!

Thanks for your comment!!

Best,

Brett

We are not killing aby jobs, we would be creating them. Please tell me how you feel this way so I can understand.

Best,

Brett

If it's so easy and cheap then you would be competing with PR and ad companies because everyone would attempt to do it in house instead. As this would affect my job in particular I'm gonna have totake a pass on this one.

A very serious ethical dillema somewhere... i can see it would harm existing JOBs (Darlinglilred felt it)... i cant comment much on the capitalist interest as a whole... it seems this is a new technology or procedure the way SMS killed Pager business..honestly i dunno but i guess this is what Saigon fears and others who voted your IDEA to where it is now.

just my 2 cents though.
