The Idea

Order fresh fruit online and have it shipped to your house same day.

I thought of this idea when I was...

looking at berries

Vanhees has a point.. if I want fresh fruit I can go to a local fruit stand or market.

One consumer would be restaurants and smoothie places, but they probably already get daily shipments.

There are some definite hurdles that would have to be overcome. (one of which is fuel costs... I would have to order a lot of fruit to justify the gas to get it me...Hi fruitco.. can you deliver one apple?, I am hungry...)

I think ordering fruit online would be the least fresh way to receive fruit. Are they going to mail it to you?

It does work, that is what supermarkets in the US and UK do when you order online and they deliver the groceries (incl. fresh fruit & vegetables) to your door. You need to make sure and build credibility that is always fresh and that you have sufficient amounts of distribution points so you can ship it easily and quickly to the customer.

And locally sourced would be a good idea too. This would distinguish you from the supermarkets.
