The Idea

This would be a Content Management System that would have a central repository for user logins and a blog interface where users could publish content to their site. However, based on tags (categories) that they choose, content would be automagically syndicated to their site as posts and comments from others' sites, creating a blog network of similar posts from other users of the system. Users and browsers could comment on posts and the comments would be syndicated out to all sites that carried the post. Forums could also be syndicated based on topics and tags to sites with similar content, also. Strong linking and a social network of sites could make for high visibility and pagerank. Users could block content from certain users and tags, depending on their personal preferences.

I thought of this idea when I was...

browsing the blogosphere and wanting similar content from multiple sites in a more interactive format, rather than just in Google Reader.

Sounds cool. In simple terms, it sounds like it brings the "crowd" to the blogosphere which has some merit. I had to go check out Google reader which also looks cool but is in a slightly different space.

Good thinking, coates.

This sounds like a good idea. I believe that it would allow a more organic growth of some smaller blogs as they would be seen by more people as they got aggregated out in the same streams as larger blogs. Good idea, thumbs up.

i think this could possibly democratize the blogosphere and also spread smaller blogs and get good content for them also. you might think that it would not matter to people who surfed this blog network which site they viewed, but it would... sites would still be individual in terms of design, presentation of content, and theme. there would just be a lot *more* content pumped into your blog daily from a variety of like-minded bloggers.
