The Idea
Provide a Gift registry site (Wedding, Baby shower, probably other kinds) that allows participants to select items from all online merchants. Typically these kinds of registries are run by a single entity that allows you to pick items only from their selection (Target, Pottery Barn etc). There are numerous specialty retailers that are too small to setup their own registry but that would offer a greater variety of gifts.
I thought of this idea when I was...
watching my wife choose a single store to setup her baby shower registry... there were many items that she found online that she would loved to have received, but had to limit her registry to that single online merchant.
