The Idea

Websites where the consumer gets to vote for what they like is a great and profitable idea; this website's a good example. Anyways, my idea is for a website that links inventors and their ideas with consumers who can vote for the best inventions and optionally give suggestions to the inventors to better improve their product. Inventions that get a high percentage of people voting that they'd like to see that product in stores would then get presented to companies that would manufacture and sell the product. The inventors submitting to this website would have the peace of mind that their invention can not be stolen as a result of this website. It's also free. I think this is an excellent idea because it gives consumers some control over what new big thing hits the shelves, it gives inventors a good chance for them to make money off of their product, and it provides invaluable market research and opportunities to the companies that will be making or selling the product.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Actually before I saw this website, I had seen other websites that use a mass, non-invasive voting system to see what the best of the best of things are.... And being someone who wants an easier way to get inventions realized, I thought that it would be really nice to have a website to see what ideas are good, and to market those ideas to companies free of charge. Companies would only be getting highly sought after products out of it, so there is no losses for the inventor if their idea is a flop and the companies would only be gaining money.

Site should be linking inventors with manufacturers as well. For example I have an idea for a bike lock but do not have manufacturing skills to produce it. The money comes from sales of the final invention. The site essentially owns shares in the final product.
