The Idea

I had an idea to create a mobile phone photo editor that is actually usable and useful. The last two mobile phones I had (a Nokia and a Sony Ericsson) both have terrible, slow, impossible-to-work-out photo editors, so the one time I wanted to touch up a photo in my camera to send it to a friend, I couldn't do it without uploading to my computer. A search on google didn't turn up anything either.

I think it should be possible to make a photo/image editor that is useful and relatively easy to use with the current generation of mobile phones.

Features I would like:
- Easy rotation/resizing/cropping
- Colour correction/adjustment
- Red-eye removal
- Effect filters (e.g. sharpen/blur/soft focus/sepia/tint/lighting effects/etc)
- Funny warp effects (eg to make eyes/nose etc really huge like a caricature)
- Batch editing

I thought of this idea when I was...

Would be great if/when Apple announces support for 3rd party apps for the iPhone.

I see some technical challenges here but it would be nice if you could do this.

I think this type of service will become more useful as time passes. Like the widgets that allow you to take a picture with you cell phone and display it almost instantly on your website. You don't want to send sideways images if they're meant for display on a stationary medium, AKA computer monitor. Travel bloggers would love your idea...

Yes, but Irfan view is a free photo editor. Also photoshop is there. So this would need to be a small app ( 1 to 5 mb) with just 3 or 5 options. Like 1) Improve the photo. 2) remove blur .. etc.

cheers
Prav.
