Cambrian House

Cambrianhouse has inspired me to become more professional and study a whole lot of new things, so now I am a lot more skilled and I think I may have landed a killer job at Electronic Arts, probably thanks to the mention of Gwabs
Cory Ross

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

The Idea

I dream to create video guide for each university other the world. it's very hard to find the best university and it's impossible to visit all the universities . So if we make video guide for each university including interview of students, it would allow to students to choose easier their uni. To make videos, we could recruit students from each uni and ask them to make video or we could ask it to uni president. The economic model would be the adverstising.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of this idea last week when I tried to find a uni for my little sister

Google “university rating”, choose and look at the websites.
Some video interviews could add at lot to the websites of the universities, so maybe there’s a niche for you.

I like this one. My son and I have now narrowed down our university search for him by program...this would be a great tool to check out the facilities, residence etc...

Great!

So would you refuse advertising from the universities themselves, to keep it unbiased?

Universities seem to be digging Second Life more and more. Maybe you should start a virtual architectural firm for colleges!

crowdsource it. ask people in student PR departments with cams to document for you in exchange for shares on revenue. upload to a youtube like app.

Start making a few videos and figure out the logistics. I would love to see some common elements in the videos so I can make a more objective comparison.

I would love to see the cost comparisons, it seems like a very expensive undertaking to get the content. Would it pay for itself, I am a little skeptical.

Could be an add on to facebook that was designed for students in the first place. A valuable resource for potential students

You mean like this?

But seriously, does seem like a decent idea. Maybe the 1st step could be compiling what schools have already produced. I'd bet most have done a promo video at this point.
