Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Cambrian House

Crowdsourcing gives me that opportunity to support my diversity of interests. It keeps me alive with new challenges and interesting projects. Can't get much better than that can you? Oh yeah, and what's my risk? Time. I personally call it play time.
John Lynn, Feb 2007

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

The Idea

A blogging site for use within corporates that is designed around projects that affect multiple departments and multiple locations. This way the current development of the project can be discussed and different graphs and screenshots shared. It must be simple without any clutter but very securable and auditable; and, maintanable by the customer. It must also be customisable and deployable both within a corporate intranet; as well as on the internet - say if certain players are outside the intranet.

I thought of this idea when I was...

When amazed by how the lack of communication within corporate structure results in lost time productivity and direction.

If you want to have something deployable, multiple other projects (e.g. snipsnap.org) do already provide blog/wiki tools focused on project work.

As hoster, a blog is probably not enough. Communication within projects requires a sophisticated document and user management. Software project management platforms (trac, sourceforge, ...) might be a good entry point. Nonetheless, could be a gread idea if it comes with some new and refreshing ideas.

As previously stated, You need more than a 'blog' in order to communicate intra/inter deparmently.

Now, if you wanted to create a Program, which is a lot cheaper and easier to use than Microsofts TM, thats an idea.

A Java/C# Front End, connected to a Database, which lists Schedules, Timelines, File Hosting, possibly Voice/Data/Video communication is the way to go, not just a single blog.

Its actually an Idea that can be integrated with Skype/Ventrillo/AIM and WebCams to bring Meetings to a whole new level for Business use, not just personal.
