For Everyone specially international immigrants and overseas workers who wish to purchase memorial lots back in their home (or chosen )country the eMemorial Central website is a a solution as Global hub for memorial parks all over the world that that makes search and decision easier. Unlike all other company own sites (and non online sites) our product will lessen the burden of tedious search and traditional purchase thru online payment, virtual visit and customer service and support in one website. Thus, will save actual cost on site visit, manual transactions and even eliminate other inconvencies.
A global hub for memorial sites around the world. Will featured pics/videos and amenities that will served as "booking" sites and virtual visit. The site will coordinate all documentation of purchase and other package like online ticketing travel agency.
My IDEA site will earn via commission from ads, sales leads gathered (from online visitors) and obviously from every transactions closed.
2 years back when Mom is mortally ill i thought i need to scout nice place for her in my country...lately i was thinking on my future adapted country and possible resting place. Its hard to view by countries of choice and one by one search for a site.
how will this service work.. its very unclear on how i would use this service
Rizal,
Thanks for the first question: let's say you wanted a memorial lot for an aging member of your family, in your country or their country of origin, you visit my "eMC". Choose and check a Memorial Company(with links) and even have a virtual tour. A menu will let you see all amenities and FAQ. You can request for brochure or more informations either directly in your email or thru a customer service chat/call conference/ links for that specific company. Viola your info needed wil be yours including payment scheme via c.card and other acceptable form. Contract will be forwarded to you eventually to validate the transaction.
Its a virtual "booking" really or online purchase lke any other ticketing agency. And yes you will have the luxury to aovid pestering salesman and some stigma (culture based) re this sensitive preneed product.
This is an ecommerce at work.
I'm not sure there is a market for this. I expect that people generally want to put as little thought into this as they can.
Whoa! a timely IDEA or a soft touch on the morbid business of the our mortality?
You seems really passionate on some endeavors or issue few amongst us have guts to even intelligently discuss about.
I wish you well,
FocusDriven
Maureen: If Salespeople do able to makes sales on this "thought" , Imagine how much more a discreet and impersonal approach via online can make a difference? I thought only asians have reservations on this...but anyhow, i believe the success story of preneed insurance companies and how most of us wanted to get away with this kind of sales people inviting us for lunch for "business" proposal or put us in cold feet from a friend referral and visiting this in your own home.
Remember its still is an investment.
FocusDriven:
I am passionate about this that believe will revolutionize the industry and open up a new terrain for ecommerce. Thanks for the kind wordsm appreciated really.
My fear is actually how to protect this IDEA while my team is not yet ready to complete the process unlike 999ideas.com can offer to members (patent etc).
Guys please do extend more positive opinions.
I have found, in my area at least, the companies that handle these matters do not even have web sites. Something like this could be what is needed to get the memorial sites out of the dark ages and into the new generation.
Yup colonelron:
i did join sometime as sideline last summer..and yes even my company doesnt have one...again am embarking on a global hub.
please check the business i did..you are invited!
...WOW, you are really into global community!
Its about time, we GENX command our future and tame our past.
Saigon, you have to think about how to drive traffic into your site so that the process of decisionmaking to buy can start. More plus factors maybe. Why not incorporate as plug in a sort o e-cemetery or a micro-site for the departed. there are already sites like this but dont just copy it. maybe you can add features like a wiki tool for biography and other posthumuous documentation. a sort of "reconstructing" the life story of the departed. Friends of the departed may upload pictures that are not in the album of the family. Certainly this drives traffic and selling despite its "morbidity" will be alot easier.
Cycko: Thanks for your commentaries and very helpful suggestions. I am still working on my curent website for this(that wiki tool is perfect) check http://ememorialcent...stead.com/index.html its not yet finished its a simple layout while my hands are still full on many things in tying up all the pieces specially the MOA on existing companies i will have link as resources product on line (at least 6 countries).
Of course i dont intend to just copy (there is none so far on my limited seacrh)..imitation will give shame on the very seed of this IDEA. but there is cost of being first.
Innovation is expensive. There are heavy often backbreaking cost of R&D and engineering. There are talent and facilities cost for product planning and technolgy... But since i am in Crowdsourcing here in CH i have a strong faith that they will come and offer their own hands. While, i do know to imimitate is simply to get piece of the action of an innovation that looks like a winner, still it is far fullfiling to make something new than redesign.
Again my worries is being copied than being first. To stay afloat while all wolves lurks around. For now (with the website development i started) i hope to skim the cream off the market and make a tidy profit before the competition arrives hahahaha.
To fellow Cambrian, stockholders and visionary, i welcome your contributions to forge this Idea prior to my project trip to the Bazaar.
Erratum: its http://ememorialcent...stead.com/index.html
ememorialcentral.homestead.com/index.html
still on trial basis
Saigon, my Man! lets collaborate on this idea... Hope somebody will back us up. This idea really have a market though.
..you need a lot of works in dealing with affilliated companies in other countries..better focus on at least 3 or 5 countries and assesed or see how it will be then...
over all its quite neat and discreet for such a business to buzz about.
jay69 is right though..you need more resources if you spread yourself too thin!
I check the website..its nice and effective.
I think it is a solid idea. It is not something that everyone would know how to handle and would almost always require some advice.
If the business could provide a through life (ignore the pun) solution (ie from shipping, legal aspects, etc...) then it would provide benefit and hence have a market.
I am unsure the size of the potential market .. but it is worth investigating.
Hi Saigon,
I just check out the website, it's cool and attractive. What you need is more buttons and think how to promote this website globally.
thanks everyone:
Am quite in dillema which one to focus on immediately to earn my first cool 1million hahahaha ...
Kidding aside, i intend to merge with an existing Marketing or enterprise to handle this hope you could join the bandwagon too if you have better suggestion to stop me selling this.
Do you have problems talking with the corporate Moguls in your country? I can arranged meeting if you want my Team to promote this.
Please send me your email and contact number.
Its not actually sweet since it has something to do with a "fear" most of us hate to talk about...but it make sense to me actually.
comrade saigon,
Tell me what can i do to realized this project.
I visit your website, it need to be polished.
All the best!
Hey Bro!
Where was the iPeg i heard much about?
Though this one hold a lot of potential, i thought you were leading as per your email and link indicated.
No worry you got my vote on this one too, and tell me how can we nail the market ASAP!
Honestly i dont have any idea if one member of the family will be needing this. From my experience and observation in my country we are just preyed upon by "sympathetic" instant warm neighbor and simply agreed on anything. Though my parents have insurances, I am not sure about possible details on ( oh i hate to say this) the burial.
This site will help a lot on people to prepare where ever they are, and avoiding future inconveniences among the living.
This idea was put into bazaar already but we would like to refined this better thru your comments.
Please feel free to give us more of your solicited advise!
Thanks WEng for the reality Check!
Its about time you prepare for your loved ones...
RJason: Ipeg is being taken care of by a rag team of weekend wizards lolz..for the time being check this IDEA and hope this one get an investor the soonest!
Hi Rhea,
Youre right and hope more of you of not the rest of people pysche get this under their skin and act now!
what hapen to your website carrying this?
Hmmm... this is very workable and no need for inventory nor expensive initial capital. The whole idea is simple and a possible silent blockbuster!
Interesting. Flashforward 40 years that's probably the what I would do. I think the entire industry is quite fragmented, but I'm not sure. I imagine it's very different from country to country. Starting with one country might be a start.
Saigon,
I haven't seen your website and from comments above I'm not sure it's still up, but that doesn't matter too much for the purpose of my comments.
It sounds like the core of your idea is a global directory of cemeteries. Or is "memorial site" a place where you could have a memorial marker without necessarily burying a person's body there?
I think this idea has potential and could be started very simply.
I suggest that you incorporate another idea which was proposed at least twice on CH by two different people (if I remember right), and that is the virtual memorial site. Many families have members who live far away from each other. Regardless of where a person's remains end up, having a memorial - or several - that all the family members could virtually visit, would be a comforting thing.
It is not exactly the same, but the Commonwealth War Graves Commission http://www.cwgc.org website is sort of along the lines of a virtual memorial.
Good luck. As far as I can see this would be a quick and easy thing to get started.
@CG_EOL: Yup, the previous site i personally layouted and designed ended its trial period. As it was paraded initially simultaneous to initial Weekly tournament this IDEA joined. We will eventually put a good one since we are already in the bazaar.
@Literate_Saint: Yes tas the beauty, no inventory nor high capitalization! Because EMC is only a conduit and acts like a salesmen for all the memorial sites we carries and affiliates ourselves in other countries.
@Noniesaft|: thanks!Definitely there is moneyhere...just sort of morbid to say the least but pre-need insurance is almost the same in essence. True we will be starting with at least 2 countries where we canave the best access and marketing partnership. I believe 6 countries would be ideal but more is not out of the question (Where global anyway see the other original IDEA name).
Jill,
Thanks for the suggestion. However we are not a virtual site though am not writing it off on my white table. We need traffic anyway and as CYcko said on his comment i need more micro-sites or other feature such as Orbituary Page, Flowers, and yes virtual cemetery to get traffic.(though there's a lot of VrtlCemtry up there) It is their 'regular" visit anyway that would plug in the sites to more business and site loyalty. I think the word "e" confuse this to a virtual site. I guess i need to change it back to Global Memorial Site. But if other have some name suggestion i have some spare Cambros to offer (that would be a good crowd sourcing practice here in CH).
BtW CH, can you incorporate my other (accidental) "duplicate" idea's comments to this IDEA? and delete the other? please...
This is very practical and everybody needs one. I just have a simple question by the way... If you will work on virtual office like this how about your taxes if you be able to closed deals in another country memorial properties?
A good one here!
and i agrees with Nonisaft...but i will be needing this few more years perhaps for the elderly members of the family who definitely woudlnt want to talk about this things..
Good idea - with an actual business plan and prospect for earning. I like it.
I understand that it's not a virtual site, but I think some ability to make a virtual visit would be a good add-on, as your initial pitch opened with the mention of people who live far away from their loved ones.
I realize your core idea is more to facilitate the logistics of arranging for physical memorial sites, which I take to mean cemetery plots, with possibly other types of sites as well.
Seems to me that your customers could be cemetery owners (you are providing them with marketing) and / or the individuals you first mentioned (you are providing them with local assistance in purchasing from a distance). Or both.
Hey Saigon how are u? How far have you come with this idea?
Thanks everyone for appreciating the solid merits of the business plan... i failed to mention on my inspiration that one summer when i was carrying some memorial plan(intended at first for my mom) some of my friends/clients wanted another Burial prop which am not carrying. This is the problem most on account executive or "consultant" for this product, you are tied up to your own company, but i have talked to Memorial Top executives about this, they have no problem for someone to sell their "inventory' but one cant expect full incentive an in-house marketing people are enjoying.
Jill:
-yes am servicing both, the end user and the Prodcut provider.
Rizal:
-how far? hmmm... i have tAp my country MAIN Product provider and they agreed in principle. NExt thing is an over-sea's MOA for the product provider to accept me as affiliates. Australia, Italy and mainland US is my target(whjere my fellow Filipino are heavily concentrated). I received an interested group from Canada to market this. Though i have the intention to sell this in the Bazaar(its already up there)... i still need to complete alot of things to make this a TURN KEY business for a VC to command a good price. ;-)
Saigon
...this SITE reminds me of things i need to do prepare next to my insurance.
I like this!
Thumbs up!
Am interested to market this business.
honestly? between the two idea you have here...this ones makes money and the other will earn you fame and recogition. Is this a grand design or what? Kidding aside i like this one though both have a lot of works to start with this one stand better and under sound business fundamentals.
All the best!
I don't see the function there are lots of other sites where you can track this info down. I don't think it would work.
Hi Saigon, I've been thinking about this idea more, and still really like it. I see it more as a booking and pre-planning service for anyone, not just those planning services in another country. There's a lot of potential here because it applies to everyone.
Right now in the industry, I see that people can buy gravesites online, and there are some preplanning services (http://www.wardfuner...TML/preplanning.htm) available. It's all very fragmented. What might help to build consumer confidence is to develop partnerships with some of the large funeral/grave site firms. Customers need to feel that they can trust what they are buying. This is imperitive where you have a product that differs from place to place and it is hard to prove what you see online is what you will be getting. That being said, it can be done. People buy travel packages online all the time, without knowing anything about their prospective destination or hotel.
OK as a person who markets for the internet there are many many obstacles to this business. Basically it is a real estate site. The real estate happens to be a grave yard but you are purchasing a plot of land. In order to have virtual tours pics and sales you would have to get all the "parks" to make video or upload pictures or you would have to go and get the pics themselves. You could do a flicker like ap that would aggregate the information but it would be difficult to find because people do not often generate content around these destinations. Most of these businesses are run by families and may not want to be aggregated in such a site and compared with competition. The final resting market is a delicate one. People do not buy travel packages without information all the time. More and more travel sites are reaching out for user generated content. I have built two real estate sites and a travel site for AAA in the United States. Also many people want to be with their families. If my father is in Golden Gables but I can get a better deal for Mom at Happy Forever on line I am sure someone will be pissed off.
You would need something like a profile page for each of the parks. It should be able to have video and picture uploads and you should be able to search by a variety of different factors price, country, religious denomination, room for additional people, shipping cost and other factors. It would not cost that much for the site I have most of the features built in a white label system. What would cost you is contacting all the graveyards you would need a massive sales staff. What I would suggest is that you build it for one country first, most likely your home country and then roll out to other countries. If you want to do this idea there are practical things to consider. Feel free to contact me if you like.
Hey, Saigon - I don't have much of a comment on your idea, but I wanted to let you know that I'm extremely impressed with your openness with the idea and intelligence you've used to answer each and every legitimate question. Keep it up!
thanks for the great comments guys:
@sole_cross: PM me on your email add pls.
@vizminda, MCaballes: greetings and appreciation dearly noted.
@kevin_cox: eMC is not an info provider, we broke the product from the provider to the clients (worldwide).
@noniesaft: WOW preplanning, i like it...my co filipinos are the most excellent group to set the standard. we attend our relatives/family burial by the troop, like its wedding or something since its another way of getting together and seeing each other again. hmmmm I never thought of the possible religious sensitivity issue. i believe the hotels can be tap for ads!
@nonodynamo: do a flicker like ap is a great suggestion. virtual 3d tour was on the making and on the original idea but was not inlcuded on the trail website. park profile is a good one=) though the shipping cost is something i dont want to touch on at the moment (but can be accomodated). Affirmative, am rolling this out first in my country with already 4 major product consortium (2 nailed, 2 for appointment) on the onset. i will definitely contact on the days to come. Lastly, the large sales staff is difinitely an operaitonal issue, thats why i will be needing VC and or patners.
folks am truly indebted on the wonderful comments, big and small contribution to make this IDEA well hammered to the bumpy road ahead.
A million thanks!
-saigon
Thanks Tweedle,
...replying is part of the tips CH provided for IDEAwarz! but if you can observed, the good thing in this crowdsourcing is, the members do provide real answers too since an author may not readily provides some issue and details. Comments are like jewels and real treasure for a business to prosper (or take off).
welcome aboard!
whats the latest saigon?... i been reading some ideas and seems you could start some collaboration with some guys around with cool ideas that can do great for your business concept here.
-true_daniel
Good you return this back in the tournament..this is one of my sentimental favorite!
Godspeed Saigon!
Im glad eMemorial is back! Hope we can work this out soon!
Your ideas seems extremes at times ranging from the handicapped, to trash can to the morbidity other would not even dare to speak...
Still there is something right that makes your business acumen sensible than most ordinary mortal would agrees.
I believe, this one will be copied but would hard to duplicate if you will go ahead from here.
May you achieved your success the soonest!
I like the idea
Thanks guys.. am trying to insert on my busy sched to work on the LOGO and video pitch stay tuned before the voting week ends ok?
BTW this is on the bazzar already please PM me for interested party to collaborate with me in their respective countries.
Cheerz!
I like that you tie the site to real businesses. The questions I have is how many of these memorial sites would be available online? What sort of selection of services, i.e. half of the sites 75% of the real sites would be online through your site?
I like the idea, good luck developing and keep me posted on how it is turning out.
Not enough time to read al the comments, here are my impressions of your idea.
I think your best opportunity lies as a virtual tour and lead generation service for the cemetery industry. If done right it would be a discreet and comfortable way (in the comfort of your home) to look at facilities, grounds, and make contact with the staff.
A real thorough understanding of the cemetery industry would be needed.
@gregbd:
yup ur right, the eventual office set up wouyld probably a garage type comfort if i cant get a nice corner in the house, with my own staffs either in their own bed or in the bath tub =)...this goes the same wya on how clients would try to take a relax way to deal with this inevitable arrangement for themselves or members of the family. btw i have a short stint selling the "plans".
@Terrence:
no need for the product provider to go "online" since their products would be the content of my site not necesserary to detour them to link otherwise i wont likely close a deal and clients would go directly to this sites. As for the numbers....were still evaluating Product provider that would be the right choices for our target client profile... in my country alone PRIVATE memorial parks would definitely be the one we will be carrying (about 10 already on the list) than public cemeteries. My initial target group at the moment are Overseas worker and Filipino migrants living other countries but with intention to return on their final resting place(they are about 6-15million out there as of thelast statistics). We will expand from there in due time...probably for highly mixed megapolis of nationalities like...Chinese, Koreans, Italians and the Jews.
With more open markets and people leaving their home countries, I think this is a wonderful idea. I haven't read all the comments yet, but there may be state or country regulations that will have to be considered. But it is an excellent idea for the way the world is headed.
hey..kabayan..!!it's a very good idea,an on line global memorial sites.I think it will succeed, cause we must accept that every one of us will need that when the time comes. But you must give more information on marketing and etc.,do you already have contacts in other countries?By the way',are you still here in the philippines?
I don't know saigon. The idea is wonderful, yes, but mixing memorials with internet is like mixing rupestre paintings with vector art. I'm sure there is a market there, but it's a sad thread and I don't think people will call technology for that, as its related with feelings and tradition. In any case, I'm interested in knowing how the project will end, so keep me (or us) in touch!
Good luck
One thing I have to say about this idea, there is a lot of people talking about it... good job
Given the wide difference in cultures and languages, this might be difficult. A website that might appeal to Chinese users might repel Australians, and many people will want interfaces in their first languages.
people do need a place for their remains, and relatives seek connection with passed loves ones. I'm not sure this is the answer, but you are asking the right questions.
Nice idea Saigon. I am game to join in this. Do let me know where i can chip in.
Problems:
Niche markets, lots of 'em, spread across the globe. Will need lots of footwork across the planet to grow this to the scale you propose. Also will be more successful in some cultures than others.
Also, victim of your own success - if this does catch on, competition will keep the margins thin - I imagine specialty sites dealing in one particular country would be more attractive than a one-stop shop.
Suggestion:
The central site could be a clearinghouse for very customized sites for each location. As a customer, I'd be turned off by a McBurial portal.
wow...guys am fully amazed how you responded well on my invitation to rate this IDEA overnight!
@joeMErchant: whats a MCburial portal?
Yes am aware about possible sensitivyt issue in some culture and this might not be a one stop solution for very region even there is the need... thats why am starting on my country while preparing/layouting an international affiliation. The competition is inevitable, but serves well to educate the the market on their purchase behaviour.
@david wei: in the long run...call center will be trapped instead of maintaining a bloated customer service agents speaking on different tongue err languages. Amnot discounting anything but most of the targeted clients are not natives speaker but expats/intl immigrants mostly working in English speaking countries.
@olani: This is the real excitement actually..tapping a non "traditional" business in different medium of marketing platform but the process and cycle is still the same.
OUch...Sorry guys i am here on internet cafe (12noon) and brush elbows with a former ofc mate (Christine)..and invited her to check her CH account and sonof*** i was tempted to reply to your reviews after seeing the deluge of comments..i failed to notice this is CG-EOL account! hahahaha
am embarassed...:-(
moving on....
@GODs_light/Candadaian/MsMAx: thanks for the positive insight...appreciated really!
@vonjab: Yup 'igan! am stil in the pHils..now her ei Davcao City tkaing my Masteral Studies. LEts keep in touch and exchange emails..i will visiting MAnila probably next month for some appointment and probable MOA siging for the big players based in your City. See yeah!
@Firefox: yes i definitely would welcome extra hand on this...INDIA is such a very nice market next to China... i will be counting your personal edge and marketing aptitude eventually.
PS. oops my friend Christine (CG_EOL) is trying to box out me on my seat =) I think i have to wait for seat vacancy inside this NET CAFE before she change her mind on giving me a vote. FOr the mean time i will let her update her addiction on Social network (friendster) aargh!
Ok you got my 4 stars Saigon for paying my half hour internet rental!... just be sure you give me discounts and freebies possible on you EMC project whatever.
Goodluck..and just log on nightly in your home or in your GF's house when you visit her! :P
Hi Saigon,
I like the idea, plenty of stuff you can do with this one...Virtual tours of each center yes..Maybe even talk the centers into allowing a few IP cameras around the center so loved ones can log on and check out the gravesites. Maybe some local custom stuff to help those that might not know all the rites/traditions..I know my wife's cousin passed away and we were calling around to find out some of the things we need to do...
You might want to consider exclusive or limited partners in each locality...So its an exclusive deal.
Good luck sir,
Jim
Saigon,
This is a good idea in principle but I think the memorial business is one of high personal touch. I am not sure how that trust can be translated over the internet to actually make such a decision. I may just be out of touch on this subject since I support cremation.
Good luck,
T
Thanks for the invite!
As you know the problems with the E-commerce, automation and accountability in countries other than U.S. and Europe should be taken in consideration.
The internationals commerce laws are not there yet, to where you can hold parties accountable for non-delivery or non-fullfilment of contract.
THat's something to think about.
Ross
Hiro_Jim:
Hmmmm...thats a novelty but i never got much thought of that IP camera's request..i dunno if it will be a killer feature still, i have my reservations on how many customer would wanted that...it would not be practical for my site to handle that request but probably would compelled the product provider to adheres. My opinion would be a quarterly or occasion's virtual footage like Haloween, Heroes Days, Mother's Day and or Grand parents day.
Exclusive deal would not work, since most established "parks" have their marketing department that pays their sales agent. I am not a bonafide inhouse executive to get all the exclusive perks and premium benefits on commissions. Thus i be needing more product provider which is a win-wn scenario for my operation and a good business practice at that..
@thought_drifter:
please hold your thought for a while... most modern memorial park have this Columbarium or NICHE wall memorials for cremated remains =) my current nailed national provider carries that( most public cemetery donthave this i believe)..so i think i solved that one for you and the rest who are not well informed.
@pinkpig:
thanks for raising that issue... Consumer's right is our promordial conern of course much more for a B2C (business to consumer) E-commerce however i am speficifically uphold all internatinal law applicable such as the
- Consumer protection (Distance selling) regulations 2000-
That was In force:31 October 2000
Application: with certain exceptions the Regulations apply to any contract between a business and a consumer which is not made face to face (mail order, e-commerce, telesales).
Key Provisions:
* certain information must be provided to consumers before entering into a contract such as your name, address, price, delivery details etc;
* this information must also be confirmed in durable form - writing, email (possibly) and fax;
* consumers have a right to cancel a contract during a 7 working day cooling off period and, upon cancellation, a full refund must be given;
* contracts must be performed within 30 days (e.g. goods delivered) unless certain exceptions apply.
With certain exceptions it applies to any contract between a business and a consumer which is not made face to face. Although the European Directive on which the Regulations are based was originally formulated with mail order and telesales in mind, the Regulations are likely to have impact in my kind of business but, rest assured, EMC will consider its terms of business with consumers to ensure compliance with the Regulations and other intruments of law that will enforce consumer welfare.
I wish i answered your quesitons.
Thumbs up 4 u Saigon!
... a good business...
I support your idea saigon! Godspeed!
Thanks everyone.. i'll be back with more refined and better presenrtation for th is worthy project.
I'll kepp you posted folks!
I also support this idea! Should be done. Don't give up! 5* from my side.
Thumbs up!
Everyone needs this...and this will solved the stigma of facing a faceless sales man or visiting the actual site with some embarassement and inconvencience be it for ourselves or someone else.
Please tell me how could be of help. Am currently on real estate and barking on the 10years bubble forecast in the Fareast. My target market approx 2.5million Filipinos in US alone is a very lucrative market.
Lets nail 'em =)
we're talking about a website to purchase funeral lots? creepy. the whole process is soul wrenching and would probably be easier behind the anonymity of the Internet.
i say, push on! model it after rent.com. i know the business has standard products and services which could easily be uploaded to a database. just let me say once again: creepy.
...creepy but viable and real business!
back off chickens and faint hearted...
this one is for real people.
5 stars and a tap on your shoulder Saigon=)
I like this too!
Man, this had been a contender for sometime now..its about time you snag the right vote from the community.
May the force be with you Saigon!
Interesting idea. Have you done any research to see if there is really a market for this? What are the stats on people getting buried as apposed to cremated? Would you include help for people to fly the dead bodies back to their home countries? - there are some interesting regulations about this.
@Christimanole,eZeitgeist,rosary_monday, Macaballes:
Thanks for the warm appreciation of this project!
@christoperitter: someone answered for me ;-)... this is not new but innovative in some ways bec it will carry several product providers (thus making it a unique hub). Not creepy at all, i think morge, coffins and post mortem clinical jobs are creepier, memorial parks is not as dreaded as Public cemetery from gothic eras anymore... am giving a better and convenient service and trying to educate the rest of folks who gives the "creeps" for this.
@bcforrester: hmmm..let me try the stats for marketing...mortality/life expectancy would be the best figures available but let me focus on the death rate:
-except for several african countries which are almost half around the world expectancy. the rest of the known countries generally are above 76 yrs old.. African countries have a very interesting stat (below 50 and as low as 37) -Source: U.S. Census Bureau, International Database- due to civil wars, famine and diseases stalking their lives now a day. By and large this HUb aims to give an amful preparation for the productives years of the the clients lives or at the onset of this needs. The baby boomers are obviosly the easy target since they are reaching 60 nowadays, roughly half billion are now on the retiring and twilight years.
-cremation vs burrying is still a nomatch ratio in many countries if not all. This is evidently on the cremation facilities avalaible worldwide thus it is safe to conclude that burrying the remains is still on the upper hand at the moment. HOwever pls check my previous answer re cremation. MOst modern memorial park have this Wall NICHE specifically for the cremation option where their lovely urn are resting.
- funeral business and services is entirely diff..but am not closing the door on this one since i guess my targeted market who are from the other countries would be needing a one stop portal for all the arrangement possible. I cant answer much on the regulations (of body transporting) issue since , its not really the cup of tea the HUB is envisioning. Please give me some time since the business intend first to have a pilot project in 1 or 2 country before going intl. Thus i cant tell at themoment the general rule...and again its a diff business.

Postcript@Bcforrester:
Stats available for cremation i googled resulted to a very good page from:
http://www.srgw.demo...ional/ProgressF.html
UK and its satellite kingdoms shows a great progress of cremation over the last 100 years...but didnt mention the preference of keeping the remains (urn in the house, burrying or spilled somewhere). The rate of expiration* of life however remains roughly half a mllion per year. In the region i am in (SE Asia)... burrying the expired beloved still the mode of choice even with cremation around, we still bury them for annual visit which is culture and religious based pratice.
Thank you and Keep the comments coming guys!
Bravo..i been holding myself to do this but you need a HUG morethan my appreciation applause!
The potential is as crsytal clear as an improved toothpick or dental floss most of us would want one time in ourlives. I beleive the casket service and travel is really of different business since your only providing the last home they will get enrooled (pardon the figure of speech). Since most of your targeted clients as you've said are away from the mother land they would most wanted the visiting arrangement in hotels and other perihery involving the last homage such as flowers, video documentation, and assurance of well take care memorial lot, all year round.
Go Saigon do this and share us the succes story in the future.
Hi Saigon,
Good idea and you have plenty of feedback, which is a long read !. One thing to consider is that you'll need to zoom down from the country level to the county/town level. Been an immigrant from Ireland, I know I would not want to end up in Cork Ireland, but Cavan (hence the name Cavan Man!)
One other element you could add to enable to site to have aerial shots. You may also want to link to undertakers.
I saw the alternative to this idea, where some crafty Irish Business Men now living in NY - started importing soil from the home land, so some Irish soil could be but in the grave. A couple of people actually bought enough so they could be totally buried in the stuff. The challenge they had was getting the import license and get the solid treated to ensure it was bug free!
Thanks Cavnman, jGarcia:
The aerial Site would be a nice addition (mext to 3d tour)..something like google earth..i'll take note of this! Am not serious on undertakers and other alternative you mention...i just broke the sales for the provider.
Strangely I know this has all ready been done.
Thanks for carefully observing this good project Kevin_Cox...
Perhaps you mistook a possible similarity of this idea on some sites that basically handles database (worldgardens.com) for free ( i just stumbled today) or an online cemetery that shows records, tombstone photos from thousands of cemeteries around the world including transcriptions of tombstone inscriptions, burial records and other cemetery records on the Internet such as online cemeteries under About.com i saw minutes back =).
Obviously its an entirely different thing. Since they dont have a product to sell for the purpose of the burial. However, there are thousand of websites Product provider that showcase their OWN cemeteries online... and thats what this EMC intended to tap , which is to market for the rest of the world -in my case are the oversea's contract worker and intl immigrant living in diff countries-.
That makes this unique, the sources are there, links, and other features and services but none or few (i googled it and none so far) have dared to make this as a global portal to served the inevitable product majority of humanity will use eventually.
Kevin, i made my personal account in the early comment regarding my experience in Marketing (diff. industry). Prospective clients, many times would want some "products" that a company executive is not carrying. He/she is a company-in-house salesman and thus prohibits him/her to sell "product/brand" other than what their company is offering. Thus, with a website hub like eMemorialCentral, this problem is eliminated and the potential is maximize to sell more and satisfying the customer's needs.
hi,
This might not be a popular traditional business but the your idea is neat, simple, executable and well, profitable.
I agrees with your observation and you got an edge if you could do this ahead of anyone.
this sounds really interesting. The idea is simple and more than likely very profitable.
I'm behind you Saigon...
Hope you could start this project even if you would not win in this round.
Your stat link on British cremation preference is a thing to discern and gives me some serious thoughts. However youre right that burial and most of the first class cemetery have wallniche for this cremated remains.
I openly gives my 5 stars for you!
looks like an underdog winner.
Two thumbs up...I like it.
Again my sincerest thanks for commending this IDEA fvorably guys!
I like to repost my answer to the following since this was burried in the middle and probably didnt noticed by the sender that i gace my answer:
@joeMErchant: whats a MCburial portal?
Yes am aware about possible sensitiviyy issue in some culture and this might not be a one stop solution for very region even there is the need... thats why am starting on my country while preparing/layouting an international affiliation. The competition is inevitable, but serves well to educate the the market on their purchase behaviour.
@david wei: in the long run...call center will be trapped instead of maintaining a bloated customer service agents speaking on different tongue err languages. Am not discounting anything but most of the targeted clients are not natives speaker but expats/intl immigrants mostly working in English speaking countries.
@olani: This is the real excitement actually..tapping a non "traditional" business in different medium of marketing platform but the process and cycle is still the same.
Also, to the community members who send me private messages and who i invited for possible collaboration and wanted to help me in anyway possible please check my replies.
to all my supporters and who have a strong faith on this concept, Am sorry if we didnt won again this time (4 precious pts difference)...but your comments and number of votes all this time are simply amazing and my true badge of approval. So what are we waiting?...
LET's GET IT ON!
