The Elevator Pitch

For gamers who are looking for an dynamic RPG Fighting game the game Battle Axe Island is a video game that combines Fighting and RPG gameplay. Unlike other fighting games our product allows you to explore open environments and reels you into the character.

The Idea

You are a viking, set on Battle Axe island to become one of the fiercest warriors of your tribe. Increase your rank by competing in a series of battles to become the best!

Features:
- Open dynamic environments. Feel free to explore all of Battle Axe Island.
- MMO island, find and challenge any opponent on the island, including NPCs.
- 3D Fighting style game. Challenge an opponent on the island, and enter a mode similar to fighting games like Soul Caliber to duke it out
- Dynamic battle arenas. Watch the trees split and splinter as you smash your opponent through them.
- RPG-style leveling up. The more you punch, the more your punching skills increase. The more you use weapons, the more your weapon skills increase.
- Fully Customizable characters.
- Smithing: Shape and customize your own armour

I thought of this idea when I was...

Of course my chief inspiration came from CH and Battle Axe island on Second Life. Other inspiration include the game design, environments and openness of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I also don't play many 3D fighting games anymore as I find them typically the same. I thought adding some RPG elements to a fighter could spice up the genre.

It's surprising to me how there aren't really any online fighting games around. It's a genre with a lot of potential.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. Gwabs will definitely change that ;) I thought the Battle Axe Island idea could also add more variety and bring more to the table than the standard fighter.

I'd find it interesting if, as you stated, As you attack with certain attack that quality will go up but other qualities will go down. Like if you never grab and just keep kicking your enemy your Kick will be very powerful but your grab would suck. This would help keep the characters balanced while they are molded to each player's unique fighting style.

Another way to keep characters balanced would be strength vs agility. For example if your character carries heavy weapons and uses lots of heavy armor, they will have stronger attacks and stronger defense, but low recovery time and slow movement speeds, while the lighter characters will move much faster and be able to dish out more attacks at a faster speed (each of those strikes would of course do less damage as an attack from a stronger chracter, but combined with the number of attacks they can do at the same time as one strike from a strong character, the total damage would be about equal).

This sounds really good. Like Cory said, there aren't a lot of online fighting games around, and this would definately be great with the MMO aspect. I have some ideas I'm willing to share if you want to hear them, plus I've started working on the UI.

Would the island have a fable like touch to it ( if you have played fable) a fable like arena like you challenge them and then when you travel to and enter the arena the battel startes. like th arena on fable. or would it be like you chalenge them and the battel startes right there with the envirment in the background but you are emersed into a arena invorment. or somthing your smart brain though up that my dull teenager brain hasent

When you challenge an opponent, the battle starts immediately, creating a new instance of the surrounding environment (within certain limits) in which you battle in, as long as programming permits. Otherwise, it will create an instance of a battle environment that uses the same elements of your surrounding environment, but doesn't use the actual environment you were in when you challenged.
