For Anyone who who wants to show their cullinary skills or just get good recipes the sautélevision is a video blogging website that provides cooking videos from all kinds of cuisine. Unlike Foodnetwork where what you see is what you get our product prvides what you want cook whan you want to cook.
A website dedicated to cooking and recipe videos. Like food network on the web. The channels will be multi cuisine ranging from Italian to Italian (Went around the world once
) videos have to be pre-screened before posting to avoid unwanted content. People can have videos or slide shows with a blog about how they came up with this recipe some history about the recipe and can entertain Q&A.
Also have quick order button which will order the ingredients for a given number of servings on Amazon or Safeway or other grocery stores online.People can also share Party ideas, maybe even form groups who can research new recipes. We could have two type of tags top recipes and top searches without any recipes. We can also add Drool Scores to recipes similar to Digg
. We can have Section where people who have tested the recipe recommend the recipe. We can call this Drooled and tested. We can also have virtual iron chef like competition online.
Food Network but lack of what I want to see
Married to an Italian woman I can relate a lot to a multi cuisine ranging from Italian to Italian ;-).
Without joking bana: I didn't check if something similar exists. maybe it can be connected to the idea of sarah Hol to use up the leftovers.
And remember: assegiare non abbufare.
Tommy
How will your site differ from the Food Network site? They offer typed recipes as well as some videos. If you can find something to make your idea better/different, you could have a real winner.
I was thinking about it too and asked the chief (my wife and she is not Italian but Indian). We felt that if we could ask for a recipe and get it in days or even hours that would be awesome. People can also share Party ideas, maybe even form groups who can research new recipes. We could have two type of tags top recipes and top searches without any recipes.
let me mull over this for little more meanwhile any more ideas are welcome.
Thanks
We can also add Drool Scores to recipes similar to Digg :). We can have Section where people who have tested the recipe recommend the recipe. We can call this Drooled and tested. We can also have virtual iron chef like competition where you can enter you video recipe to competetion and get selected or sent out on a weekly basis. The one think that Food Netwrok lacks is World cuisine. No Chinese , no Thai etc even if they had, they may not be authentic.
I like the idea but there is a lot of competition. You may want to focus on a specific niche in food. Ie Indian. Good luck.
I think this is been done already.. or i am wrong again?
This idea requires very little overhead. I like that!
Saigon I looked on the web for a similar website. I think none exists. iof you know of one can you please send me the link.
Thanks
I love this idea, we had recipe competitions on RHF for awhile and they were alot of fun! Maybe you could get some money from advertisers for sponsering things like "best recipe with Kraft products" or something along those lines.
What is maybe nice to add is how to eat the food; most people eat their sushi wrong (rice should be upwards and the fish on your tongue) or how wind the spaghetti around your fork, that kind of stiuff.
Tommy
I would be interested in short videos of stuff like, "How to debone a fish" "what is the best way to get Pomegranite seeds out?" All of these things that it would be great to see a short clip of.
Here is networking for you... I helping running a trade show called The Total Womans show: http://www.totalwomanshow.com ...ya I know I am a guy that helped run a womans show...
one of the main presenters ran a website and wrote for a major newspaper her website is http://www.fooddiva.com she was about to launch a online cooking school that featured how to do things like "debone a fish" "how to properly cut up foods" not a how to guide to making fettucine from scratch but a guide to the building blocks of cooking and Culinary words that no one knows.
Her name was Maribel, she would be a great place to start as she has a site already established. I don't see your two business as being in competition as yours is user based people submitting their own clips and hers is just her own stuff.
now will your site be like http://www.metacafe.com where users are paid based on the hits to their video or will your be youtube based where you make all the money?
Good Luck
Brenden
I was thinking more in terms of pay per hit(thanks Gods_light). This is where I was talking about the dual tags. One for videos already in and toping the charts. The other is videos/ recipes requested that are topping the chart. The second one means there is a potential for any user to make that particular requested video and thus potentially making more hits/money(again based on user scores). This would improve quality. I was also thinking about a tie up with small food companies for rewards(monetary or otherwise) if the videos use their products, like product placements (Thanks darlinglilred).
Thanks all and keep the advices coming.
Bana I think you are on the right track here!
I agree with Gods_Light. Your idea is simple, but there is a clear need for it. Of all the ideas I've red this round, this is my personal favorite!
Bana,
How will be the copyrights on publicly presenting our own video? How will the participating member's "earned" and your website so to speak?
I like this. Being able to watch people make their "family secret" recipes or learning new culinary skills is always enjoyable. For those that just can't get enough of the lifestyle channels on cable - this would be addictive for sure.
Sounds Delicious good idea bon appertite
Good idea! I think it would be great to have a hook - ie: No commercial ads for cookbooks etc and the "amateurs" who provide the recipes actually get something back. I would also suggest emphasis on organic and vegetarian recipes and you will have a hit! Keep it up!
Bana,
I tumbled with Chef TIm idea way back that reminds me somehow of culinary things can be of collaborative success:
http://www.cambrianh...er/ideas-id/hvBnrlv/
The Idea
Crowdsourced recipe creation and critiqueing. Imagine what CambrianHouse is doing but with recipes. Maybe every quarter, after the recipewars are over, publish a cookbook with the recipes. Get paid royalty points for recipes that make it into the books. Have an entire line of cookbooks. Maybe pick themes every quarter, month, whatever. .
-just a .2c of hunger perhaps?
Bana,
Recently people had ideas about what to make for your (left over ) ingredients.
Maybe you can combine this with your idea.
