The Cambrian House Crew
Crowdsourcing represents the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call.Jeff Howe, Jun 2006
Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.
Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

Not freeish. Not freesque. It's free!
My idea is to create a portal that brings together lenders and borrowers. I think it would work if lenders could suggest how much interest they are willing to pay for a particular loan, reasons for loan, etc... or even they could offer part of the company in exchange for funding. The site would also allow average people and savvy investors alike to check in, lend, or borrow as needs be. Kind of like micro-lending/micro-borrowing on steroids! Kind of like an eBay for money. Perhaps with some development of the idea, people could even bid on lending for an idea in exchange for a piece of the company.
I have seen too many great ideas go without realization due to lack of capital. As well, I think that the average joe should be able to take a piece of the banks pie if they are willing to take the risk!
like the concept! but its kinda freaky ...taking in account the online fraud n stuff
not bad.
I think the basic concept is already in use at prosper.com.... sorry
i'm gonna check out prosper.com, but i do agree with fossiloflife. anyone watching the news knows that banks have nearly collapsed our economy feeding off the poor folk who were simply looking to buy a slice of the American dream.
Nice idea, but already exists... LendingTree.com
When you described your idea... LendingTree's slogan popped into my head "When banks compete, you win"... so their marketing has served it purpose :)
Here is the link... http://www.lendingtree.com/
been done.
Prosper is often described as exactly that .. "an ebay for money". It has existed now for at least a couple of years. Others in the P2P Lending space are LendingTree, CircleLending, Zopa and many more.
i don't like banking ideas but this one is on the ok side.
There are a number of microloan sites out there already, I think you'll have to find something to stand out of the crowd here - not quite sure what that is yet.
As long as i can earn than getting suck in the whirlpool of unknown services while laying fat on my hard earn savings i willike this than my piggy bank.
I'm always wary of banking and finance ideas, simply because it's such a difficult market to break into. Are you sure you have - or are willing to work with people who have - the financial and legal expertise to make something like this happen?
P2P lending already exists and is well established (the most well known in the UK based Zopa).
How would you make yours different?
Chris Poad
I posted a similar idea, we should collaborate.
agrees with Dweezel...Goodluck guys!
security laws would make this difficult
done on the micro level too, people to people, prosper.com
Hmm... great feedback from the community. I am going to head over to the drawing board and see what would make this different from some of the other things out there. I think there is merit, just needs more thought:-) I will get back to the community on this. Stand by!
