If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is just one more step forward.

The Idea

None of us have enough time and unfortunately it's our families that lose out most often.

This site enables kind-hearted uncles to meet their present buying obligations to their nieces and nephews with minimum effort.

An uncle signs on to the site, submitting the names of his nieces and nephews, their birthdays and addresses as well as the amount he wants to spend on any given child.

The nieces and nephews, (with the help of mum and dad for young kids), visit sites affiliated to LazyUncle.com that uncle has sanctioned, (no inaproppriate gifts!), EG ToyzRUs, etc., and select the toy or gift they would like to receive. (limited by the money limit the uncle sets).

Their birthday rolls around and the gift is automatically dispatched, along with a personalised card from their thoughtful, but lazy, uncle.

This done the money is debited from his acount when transactions are processed.

I thought of this idea when I was...

A friend of mine is uncle to so many nieces and nephews he simply can't cope with the present buying.

Kids usually know what they want better than adults anyway, at least this way they get a gift they like instead of what you thought they liked, (and went off 6 months ago).

Yes, it is a little bit impersonal, but a tangible gift still means they know you exist if you don't get to see them much.

I like your idea and if you want I can promote it on my web site.

This sounds like my idea for what could be called "lazy spouses." It's called Spoil On. The idea is to create a simple way for a spouse to spoil their lover. I don't see why the same engine couldn't work for spouses, nieces, nephews, children, etc. Just a different set of gifts to choose from.

Oh well - since the CH days are numbered, I may as well make a meaningless, response here solely to gather points. First time for everything. ;)

Hi, OK firstly, sorry I haven't responded, I have been doing other things.

Prezzle is virtual yes? The whole point of my idea is that it will actually result in physical presents being received by the recipient.

Spoil On sounds similar, to be honest the hard part of this idea won't be building the site, or even arranging the affiliate deals, but making people aware of the site and persuading them to actually use it.

I have a few ideas about how to tackle this, which I'm keeping to myself for now.

If anyone is actually interested in collaborating with me on this idea please get in touch.
